I remember Frank as I was brought up in Bridge Street by my grandparents Ted and Marion Lay,. I am looking forward to the book arriving that friends Diana and Phil Birkett are sending me. Loved the interview.

Frank deliberately avoided talking about items he has in his book so you should enjoy reading it. Also, it is full of wonderful photos which I'm sure will bring back good memories for you.

This brings back so many memories of my mother Connie Williams of Leeds, Yorkshire. She served in the Land Army (LA) and while she told stories of the wonderful group of friends she had and all the fun, she does admit that she hated the Land Army. I asked her one time if she had her uniform because I thought it was so cool and she replied NO! She hated that also. My mother met my father when he was stationed with the U.S. Army in England. They were married in Warwickshire where my mother was. My mother died on May 16, 2010. This lady reminds me so much of my mother, who I miss very much.

Very interesting. Who is the current owner/landlord of the Bampton Business Centres site? Could you put me in touch with them by email/phone please? I have a business idea I would like to discuss with them. Also do you happen to know if the remaining 3 antenna towers are now privately owned or are they still in-use by the MOD?
@bamptonbellringer75897 жыл бұрын
A least one tower is rented and in private use by a radio ham. None of the masts are in use by the MOD. The last two were taken down a couple of years ago and I think the remaining one is a telephone mast. Mr Simon Collins is the owner of the business parks [email protected] also you can contact him at Glebe Farm, Burrington House, Weald St.

I remember these ladies, having lived in Bampton from 1966 to 1985. My Uncle Paul owned and ran the fish shop.

Nice to hear from you Pierre; so pleased you found this film. I have put 73 films on KZbin to do with Bampton which we have made for the Bampton Community Archive. Some cover events and many are interviews with people I'm sure you'll remember

They are lovely bells to ring. Sadly, the ropes are too close for us to ring them while the covid-19 virus is a plague.
