Yes, "Cabula is the Mother of Samba". I got one question- do you know if our beloved mestre Dudu Fuentes will participate this year? Thanks for posting! Can you please tell about the sizes of repique mors this year. It seems like the most common size is "14, i mean - in every bateria using repique mor. Or you've seen a bigger ones, like "16 or maybe "18? What are the trends in Rio this year?

Yeah there are a few 16" repique mors here and there. They are a beast to play at speed for any lengthy period of time. I forget off the top of my head who is playing those in Rio. I only saw maybe 2 in the 6 months I was there. Hebert Bruno from Duetto in São Paulo plays a 16".

@@gosamba thank you. So it seems like "14 are the perfect size, right? I've seen Heberto Bruno playing Contemporanea, but (i hope it is ok to write it here) some real authorities from Rio say that Contemporanea are not so good with repique mors. They say Ivsom is the best.

Oi @que_Aluna! Eu fiz a mesma pergunta em nossa podcast The Brazilian Beat com vários pessoas. O que entendi deles é que é tipo “mais”. Então é um repique, mas mais. Repique mais = repique mor. 😁
