Great video. My case battery just wouldn't charge anymore. Bought a new batterie and followed your video and the case works again. Much appreciated 👍

Great video. But, before the glue, if you you wanna charge and try, be extremely gentle when you remove it from the case, since you damage all the hard work. I lost the glue from the battery, and I replaced it with double tape for books (it's extremely thin). It's not the best solution I guess, but worked for me.

Worked perfectly for me! I used a heat gun to heat it up before separating. Watch out when you pull it apart.. I almost ripped the ribbon cable..

Thank you for this video. I have been a Sony headphone customer for many years, but their refusal to fix my XM4 buds because they were 1 month out of warrenty means I will be buying something else in future. Likely Sennheiser.

Enormous thank for the outstanding, extremely helpful video instructions!!! It was super easy to follow (please be careful with the little black thing - I almost lost it and it took me half an hour to reinstall it - so don't press it too hard).

You've helped me fix so many of my audio products I can't thank you enough (multiple pairs of Sony XM earbuds!) I do have a question about this headset, my mute button actuates by itself, so while unmuted it'll mute and unmute quickly of its own accord, I can do this by shaking my head with the headset on too. I am presuming something is loose around the buttons or maybe a bad solder connection to the button pad itself, have you teared one of these down yet? I'd love to know if there is any weak points around the mute button that would be seen as a potential failure point? The headset should still be in warranty so I'll end up RMA'ing it I think but still an interesting issue to have!

Thank you for this video, it was helpful. However, the first earbud took me 2h.. I broke the sprung metal pin at "03:38 . What an hassle to repair this tiny thing.. Second earbud 10 mins, everything worked like a charm. For the others folks passing through here, who want to replace the batteries, BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS when you remove the 2nd board from the battery at "03:03 , otherwise the rockstar feeling won't last long haha..

Well shot video with excellent lighting. Thank you. Just replaced both of my batteries. The right would only last 30m with a 'full' charge and multi-meter showed 3.2v. But once that was done, the left couldn't keep up with the right anymore, it discharged before the left got to 40%. So I replaced that one too. I referred to this video both time to see the ribbon cable depth inside the port as well as where good 'pry' points were for the battery to avoid sensitive electronics. Thank you so much.

Awesome video - without this video guide I could have easily damaged the contact to the battery under the main board or torn the small ribbon connector! Took me about 30 minutes total for both ear buds with testing to make sure all the connections were intact. I did leave the buds out of the case for 24 hours to discharge the old batteries just to be safe. One key technique in this video is using the small clamp to gently squeeze the case and open the case seam. I would not have done that myself because I would have been concerned about cracking the case. But the case is far more flexible than it appears. I used a small hair dryer that worked great. Even my small Chandler heat gun would have been overkill. The only issue I had was when a little ball of the old adhesive prevented the battery from connecting with the battery contact under the main board. Once I got that removed, everything worked great in the left-hand ear bud. I carefully loosened the small ribbon cable from the adhesive with a small Ifixit plastic lever (aka "spudger) once I warmed that adhesive up bit. I did not have to remove the small ribbon connector, and I was able to use a very small electronics screwdriver to pry the battery out and the new battery slid into place no problem as long as the adhesive is warm. I used T-7000 adhesive that I located on Amazon on the case and that worked great. It comes in black and clear. Black was the OEM glue used in my white XM4 buds. The tube of T-7000 had a very fine applicator tip that was ideal for applying a fine line of adhesive inside the case. I had no adhesive cleanup outside of the bud cases. I dry fit the cases to make sure the buds worked then used the T-7000 adhesive, put a few small rubber bands around them for a few hours. Then I put the buds in the power case and carefully in my ears one last time make sure everything worked, and it did. I used the renovated buds at the gym the next day and they worked flawlessly! Cool and informative video - Thanks!!!

I just bought and on my new pads, have had my corsair void pro headset since 2018, it was time for the pad replacement. Will say one thing I ran into on my install was trying to make sure my headband pad didn't have too much overhang on one side or the other. First time I couldn't get the clips to go on one side cause I had them covered with the edge of the pad. Using them today with the new pad, the headset feels like new again, thanks guys!

Thank you for the very helpful video! This issue really is a common one with the wh xm4’s. This happened to my right earcup a year ago, then it happened to my left one soon after. I only opened it now once the hinge swivel piece popped out, making it very inconvenient to use. I used some tape as a temporary fix, but I plan to buy an actual replacement for the hinge swivel piece later on. Very annoying, but at least with the left ear up I don’t have to worry about a battery potentially turning my room into an inferno smh.
