The desire/temptation to disobey God and obey the serpent comes from within, not the external factor. Some people have a temptation to over eat and become obese while others never do. Food is just food. The temptation is within the person.

The mark of the beast is the opposite of what the mark of God is. If the mark of God is upon those who know and love (forehead) God's commandments and law's, and those who do them (hand), then those who do not love and do [all] of them have the mark of the beast..
