Yes. Great question. We have to look at this Scripturally. The founding fathers did the best they could to keep America free and headed upward. But they knew their limits. What do I mean? They knew that they could not mention Jesus Christ in any document, nor any law, nor any part of the Declaration of Independence nor Constitution. Why is that? Because Jesus Christ cannot be mandated; He must be of willing choice for every single person. And if Jesus Christ is not the center of everything, then it can't be called "Christian". (And countries cannot "receive Jesus Christ and be saved", so they cannot be called "Christian". So, what they did was create a shell of "Judeo-biblical" order and morality, which took Old Testament principles and laws and modified them as best they could to fit in society. And because this nation is "free", with "freedom of religion", then people have a choice. And when a nation is free, it will always eventually head toward "freedom to sin"....Unless the gospel is preached and every single person is reached by other Christians year after year, to turn them to Christ. So it's not the constitution that keeps us "Christian", it would only be the Church doing its one "Church job", which is to turn every believer into an individual light toward each sinner they meet. We've given a lot of applause to the founding fathers for making this nation great, and they did. They did the best they could for a natural nation to remain free from government control. But they did not turn the nation "Christian". As a matter of history, most of the signers of the Constitution were not even saved. And NONE of them were Spirit-filled. So NONE of them had a solid "Kingdom of God" perspective that we would need in order to trust their preaching. They believed in God. But that is not enough for victory and success. Also, we are not allowed to "leave the world" and create our own cities and states and nations. Rather, Jesus said we are to "go to the world". [Jhn 17:14-16 NKJV] 14 "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
