Lock tight is made to keep a bolt from backing off. Thread tape is made to keep a fitting from leaking

Any ideas why the front axle brakes( on a trailer ) would grab faster than the rear ones. I checked the service brake valve and it’s not leaking into any of the brake chambers. The brake shoes look good, applied stroke is good. If you see this, please reply. Mulțumesc

@@valeriumoscalu7580 the front applied brake stroke is at 1.5” and the rear 1.75. Ride height is 16”, that’s the spec for the suspension. I don’t know is what else to check. Disconnect the electrical cord and see if the ABS module has anything to do with it? The ABS light is not ON… Tires are not flat, no grease on the shoes/drums, no leaking wheel seal, no rollers that fell out of their place. S-cams? Mulțumesc pt ajutor! Drum bun să ai

All that work, I bet the rotor and brake are way more expensive than drums and shoes plus wheel seal. I prefer to struck with drums.
@valeriumoscalu758012 күн бұрын
Yes more expensive, and takes longer to replace, but they have a longer life too, and stopping distance is much shorter!

I recommend to do it because, the gasket was replaced at shop few days ago and in few hundred miles it started leaking, the parts quality is garbage most of the time, this is why I use gasket maker and never have problems!
@curranburton396714 күн бұрын
Use something to seal it ALSO YPURE SUPPOSED TO RE INSTALL THE AXLE WITH THE WHEEL OFF THE GROUND AND BRAKES OFF thats why they leak after a few hundred. Your use of an impact is just as bad.
@curranburton396714 күн бұрын
Theres nothing impressive about your work to someone trained
@valeriumoscalu758014 күн бұрын
Why wheels of the ground and brake off, to be able to spin the axle so you slide it right in? I always do it like this, and always use gasket maker and never had any problems in years! Gasket started leaking after it was changed in the shop by mechanics not by me, now I did it myself and nothing is leaking! About impact gun, if you feel how you use it and don't over tight nothing it's all good! You can't carry all the tools on the road with you! You use what you have!
@valeriumoscalu758014 күн бұрын
And it was leaking not because they damaged it while installing but because it was just a bad quality gasket and they didn't use anything to seal it ! Like most of the parts nowadays!

If that's a Ford om guessing the slave cylinder
@valeriumoscalu758016 күн бұрын
It was the hydraulic line between the slave cylinder and clutch cylinder, it was rubbing against transmission and exploded from pressure and lost all the brake fluid! Replaced the line flushed the brake fluid and all good!

Hey buddy, I’m having an issue with a bluebird bus when I push in the parking brake. Sometimes the parking brakes won’t release or it’s a delayed release. What are your suggestions?
@valeriumoscalu758016 күн бұрын
Sometimes can be delayed release when the air tank doesn't have enough air, and you need to wait for the pressure to build up!
@valeriumoscalu758016 күн бұрын
Sometimes can be the parking brake valve itself!
@terrellscaife241116 күн бұрын
Where is the parking brake valve normally located?
@valeriumoscalu758016 күн бұрын
Most of the time directly on the air tank!

Actually that's not the steering angle sensor. That is the steering clock spring that has extended wires on a spool that connects so that your steering wheel buttons work. The steering angle sensor is located further down the steering column and determines the steering shaft position so that in the event of a crash it communicates with the abs system and stability control so that the abs knows how much brake pressure to apply to the front brakes. If ever unplugged or the steering shaft disconnected from steering gear box and turned then the steering angle sensor has to be recalibrate with Wabco software. The number on the steering angle sensor has to be recorded and reloaded back into the data files for the truck. In the event if ever that there was a malfunction the nhsa could see if that was the cause of a crash.
