Ah, This wonderful thing. This elevator is actually a Dover that was installed in 1979, and was modernized in the 90s. This thing has never really ran that great.

seems to be given what looks like an ERM mod by Schindler - the elevator at JCPenney in Erie was also given ERM fixtures when the Dover elevators got a slap on mod sometime in the 90s iirc

This hotel's now closed for redevelopment into apartments where the elevators most likely are going to be modded (wouldn't be surprised if they look similar to the Library in Edinboro).

About time the Avalon started it's renovations!! Sad that a classic will most likely be modernized but considering I loved the remodel at Edinboro, I hope this follows a similar path

It actually is a freight elevator as this is reserved for housekeeping. The passenger elevators are the glass ones towards the center of the hotel

Didn't even realize there was an elevator here. Must've been installed illegally as there's not a permit/listing for this on the records. This building was closed the last time I went to the Hagen History Center.

I didn't realize it either (thought it was a closet at first). I tried looking for records but had no luck so I'll agree with the potential illegal installation. However, it was an excellent elevator!

It involves my main channel ICJ. I won't be filming here again as I am retiring at the end of 2024 thus making this my final take of this elevator for this channel (I film rides and slides on the main channel).

I stayed at this hotel back in June 2015. My room was 4630 on the 46th floor and it was a presidential suite. About one floor from the 47th floor (top floor)!

When I was down here for a media convention, I stayed at the Hyatt Regency (Room 814) and it was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Thanks to our student government for covering all of the expenses :)

The only way you can film this without a key card is get the one with the 24th floor access which is the Polaris kitchen.

I stayed here during the media convention I was attending and after this was filmed the elevator you mentioned was only designated as Polaris and couldn't go anywhere else. Basically turned it into an express elevator

I do like the mod on this elevator! At 2, I saw you tried to do the trick to ring the chime. You did it incorrectly. You were supposed to press 1 and then 2. Keep that in mind for next time. But good take anyways!

I honestly don't know why they don't restrict the service elevators in this building. I mean, if they were really worried about guests using this elevator, they should just restrict access to the service elevators.

Exactly!! Speaking facts. I waited until 9pm to film it just in case and I was able to make a clean take. I didn't know how DieselDucy didn't get busted years ago for riding the exact thing with a housekeeper. What a strange world we live in!
