Hi! What size of cartridges or bullet/pellet (I don't know how can i say in english) do you use? For example 32 gramms and 2,5 mm or anything else.

Hi Richard, I use 32gram No. 4 (I believe 3.2mm)

Hi Sam, great shooting. Been pondering how to attach a go pro to the hat, what do you recommend? Are you also saying that the new go pro don’t allow a narrow field of vision? I’m heading to dyfi in January.... looks good
@samusher74653 жыл бұрын
Hiya Thomas, I would just use the headstrap if possible, Then you know the GoPro is stable. I know the Hero 7 doesn’t have narrow FOV, but I believe the new 9 does. You’ll have a great time, let’s home we get a full season in 🤞🏻

Hi Sam looked a mega day , going there next Thursday cant wait. What gopro set up is that please its really good footage and different to the normal gopro fish bowl style footage.
@samusher74654 жыл бұрын
You’ll have a great day Ben. I have a GoPro Hero 5. The biggest thing is to have the FOV set to narrow (7 doesn’t have that), this stops the fish bowl effect and gives a true idea of range. Other settings are 1080 and 60fps.

There is a lot of headcam footage on youtube of people shooting on peg, but my friend your shooting is the best i've seen.

some of the best shots I've seen use a 20g Terry
@jam37274 жыл бұрын
I’ve shot birds very similar using the 20. 30g of number 4s through 3/4 and 3/4 does the same job as the 12 but you just need to be that touch more accurate. There is no difference in power levels. You can even go up to a 34g load in the 20 if you wish, I find it blows the pattern though through tight chokes and have found 28g and 30g load the perfect compromise. Do some pattern tests at 60yds and I think you will agree. RC cartridges even do a load with 3 shot but plastic wad only. If you use continental cartridges in 4s they are actually an English 3.5 so have plenty of down range power. Just make sure it patterns well enough at the range you think the highest birds will be without the chance of wounding. On the shoot I was on, someone was even using 3 inch 50g 3s in the 12 and wasn’t bringing any birds down that the 20 gauge wasn’t. Another great way to see the pattern is shoot the highest tower you can find on the clay ground with your game cartridges and if it smashes a midi clay then a pheasant isn’t getting through it.

Terrific shooting, really enjoy all your videos. I noticed from this and your driven game videos you nearly always shoot maintained lead. You make it look so easy and natural. Even the mid range birds seem to have a visibly exaggerated lead and fly right into the middle of the pattern by the look. I guess this is instinctive for you. I shoot swing through and had my usual pre-season 2 hour brush up session at West London SS recently to drill mostly driven targets. My coach and most teachers always says swing through is best unless you are shooting really high stuff. I must say watching your method makes me think again! cheers
