I have nearly 3000 characters on a 9000 character screenpack and let me tell you the amount of characters that are high quality but barely known is astounding it's genuinely impossible to say, nearly all my characters have Ai and I feel I am just scratching the surface

Thieves in time has to continue with a 5th video game since Sly Cooper is still stuck in Egypt Murray, Bentley, Carmelita and Dimitri need to reunite with him. Anytime after Astro bot 2024 and Lego Horizon Playstation Studios has to make Sly 5 and even a new Jak and Daxter game. Can we at least have a Playstation crossover racing game with Dr. Nefarious, Emperor Nefarious, Lawrence, Mary Jane, Polygon Man, Tech T Rex, Astro Bot and Lala from Sly 2 commercial as playable characters ?

@@SinnerBladeX thank you very much this shouldn't be the end after Sly Cooper and Jak costumes appeared in Astro Bot 2024 it would be handy to continue. Should we get an Ape Escape 4 aswell? Ratchet, Clank, Dr. Nefarious, Lawrence, Rivet and Kit should return in 2029. Spiderman 2 post scene is a possible tease for a Spiderman 3 where Norman Osbourne is talking to Dr. Octopus the two of them might team up and Norman will become the Green Goblin. What new Playstation studios games will be made in 2025 ?

@@SinnerBladeXjust finished watching, really liked hearing your points on why these characters were in their sections and really liked you werent exactly average in your opinions on these characters, was genuinely surprised you didnt put Dimitri in iconic but I honestly respect you more for your reasons. Also i too was doing a tier list with a friend and its just fun to compare the reasons for each character. My friend actually put the panda king pretty low because he only wanted to discuss him as an antagonist. Was really fun to watch and listen, especially the “f*** you 3x” section of the tier list, didnt even need to give a reason for that its basically self explanatory

So I watched it, and it only made me dislike the game more. The fact that it was going to be a fully developed level but due to lack of just about everything, it was scrapped despite DLC intentions. All we have now is what could've been.

Ah, and here we are at the end. Btw a fun fact is recently(ish) Sanzaru revealed in an interview that they ran out of budget by the end of the game and made a choice between the ancestors being playable or having a boss fight revolving around the use of the costumes. I personally don’t see how they couldn’t have done both but whatever. Anyway Cyrilles also a massive dumbass cuz instead of just taking full advantage of the golden goose he had he also has little to no personal stakes against Sly, let alone the Coopers give: 1:His dad failed to steal the Diamond 1st, which wasn’t Slys dads fault. 2: Cyrille himself is already living the life maybe 1 in a billion could live now being a playboy millionaire art collector. I do personally like Cyrille, even though he’s a moron. He just lacks genuine weight to his character. Had he stolen the Time Machine from Bentley then that would’ve been somewhat better and made him more threatening, but he didn’t and instead Penelope did that, which makes her more final boss material and she had her entire character rewritten for the sake of a shit plot twist. Also also, they ended this game with the idea they’d be able to make a dlc campaign, which is just a giant middle finger to about everything that came before. These guys had probably the largest budget and the most dev time for any sly game and they just blew, and for all in no reason too. If this game ended with Cyrille dying or being thrown in jail with Sly reuniting with everyone, I guarantee you people would’ve hated this game way less. Unfortunately this game fully deserves the hate it gets and tbh for me it sits at a 2/10 with its absolutely horrendous writing, miststep in its art direction, the damn technical issues this game has and painfully long loading times, those godawful motions controls, and super repetitive game design. Yeah we’re never getting another sly game and that’s honestly for the better

Well said. I couldn't have said it any better. Honestly, the gameplay and detail kept me going, but the writing and direction it went was certainly off-putting, yet the coup de grace was that final showdown with Cyrille. For that, do I hate it? No and Yes. It sits firmly on the bottom of the Sly Cooper totem pole, though I could play again on my own time.

@@SinnerBladeXwhat I personally hate the most is this game actually has some of the best ideas for a Sly Cooper game, seriously you look past the visuals and the ideas are actually very solid, but not a single idea is ever fully fleshed out nor expanded upon in anyway that makes it seem like the dev team actually cared to put into consideration, instead focusing more on better graphics and smoother animation while also hiring well known and famous voice actors like Grey desk isle and Nolan north. The irony being the og games chose to have a more choppy animation with less notable voice actors at the time because sucker punch prioritized the gameplay of the hub worlds, art direction, and story.

27:15 thats actually one thing I can add about this game. This game is surprisingly hollow in terms of writing and what not. Every single chapter ends in a defeat of a boss but with nothing the team actually gets out of it. The cooper ancestors lose their canes, Cyrille still fucks with time. And theres actually no breaks inbetween for the you to really sit back for a bit to take it all in. To compare, Sly 2 had moments of defeat, but those were essentially the breaks, giving us a moment to look back on and even appreciate what came before up till that point. This game though is really just artificial in its writing and how it handles itself

@@SinnerBladeX ive talked to some who say they dont care about the story, which fine its a game I understand gameplay matters more, but if youre gonna have a story then why half ass it? The sly games especially are remembered ever lovingly for being a super well written character driven story. Yet nothing in this game even comes close to what the og trilogy did. This game doesnt even try to expand on themes or even bring into any themes. Hell they couldve easily expanded on the themes of identity and legacy the og games started on with the costume mechanic, but they didnt because they never seemed to bother to expand to the other characters despite that being an infinitely more interesting idea than that lame gadget wheel they tried

@@SinnerBladeX actually I also wanna add a bit on the writing bit and bring up the art style. Its no secret the sly games use of anthro is meant to appeal more to a demographic of families and cartoonists alike, but the use of anthro was also meant to visually tell you a story. Sly for example being a master thief is characterized by the use of raccoon visual elements. Helping to land that hes a natural due to the common association raccoons have with being masked bandits but also to demonstrate hes not a bad guy thanks to his color pallet consisting of all 3 primary colors, red blue and yellow. The same can be said for pretty much every character in the og games. In here though while the art direction is cartoony (if not overboard) theres a noticeable lack of use of that idea that went into the sly games prior. Its not all bad, theres some examples in here I do think work such as Cyrille, El Jefe, the Macacque guards and even the wooly mammoth neanderthals. Sadly though you get the deputy coyotes which really dont work, the dodo birds which is just a straight up dodo bird, the hedgehogs, the owls, the mandrill guards because they all just look like walking talking animals and not people. It might sound like a nitpick here, Im not sure how familiar you are with the arts, but its very noticeable once you really dig into it

Oh boy, THIS moment as well. Combined with the meh-tion controls, not exactly doing the game favors, let alone carmelita. Id also like to add that for some reason instead of waiting this chapter to reveal Cyrille the writers decided to reveal him in chapter 2 for no real reason. To be honest theres not a whole lot I can say thatd be just me repeating myself for this part on whats been said or what im positive youve realized by now in this game

9:25 I dont know why but I never realized how often that happens in this game but yeah thats something that I now realize was an issue with this game too. Cuz weve had instant fail missions before in the og trilogy, and most of those made sense cuz they were the levels bosses whom you had to avoid, but here it feels unforgiving in ways where its just meant to stretch out the gameplay. Also not sure about you but personally Salim was my least fav ancestor by the time I beat this game, hes just nothing at all like how hes shown from the og series, doesnt help this is also my least favorite chapter as well. But thats enough about me, by this point in the game what would you say youve thought of it thus far and how do you fair with this chapter? Any fav ancestors now thats youve met all 5 the game has to offer?

Gotta love game design~ Actually, Salim (Who I've dubbed thee "Salami" cuz why not) is also my least favorite. Sure I like that he's purple, but his personality isn't to my liking. Currently in recording, I'm on the last chapter, so I can happily say my favorite Ancestors in order from Best to worst are: Bob (because he's a goof), Tennessee, Galleth, Rioichi, then Salami. (I refuse to call him anything else lol). This chapter was okay for what it is, but Chapter 1 is still my least favorite due to how much I forget that it exists. As for the game itself? I'm still enjoying it, and I like it, while yes, trying to pretend some of the design wasn't actually implemented.

ZETA's pretty brutal along with most of TornilloOxidado's BBTAGs (BBTAG is the style of fighter used for this tourney that have those burst icons). Definitely above average in terms of AI compared to other BBTAG authors. I haven't watched all the parts yet but Zeta's from a RPG game called Granblue Fantasy.

The thing though about Penelope is it wouldn’t have been as poorly received if it’s idea wasn’t so poorly handled. Cuz it could work in theory but the game is written like we never even knew Penelope before this game, cuz she’s been shown not only as in love with Bentley but also super kind to Murray and grateful towards sly. The overall issue with this game is entirely on the writing

20:50 also yeah, Penelope’s betrayal is regarded as probably one of the worst plot points because not only is it insanely out of character but all of her argument for betraying them: -money -slys a thief there fore bad - for Bentleys sake These all can easily be counter with; -Sly gave everyone his inheritance in 3 where it’s easily worth billions and billions of dollars -Penelope was also a thief and wanted to join the gang in 3 but needed proof she wasn’t wasting her time, plus slys a good thief - Bentley hasn’t even talked to sly for a few years since the end of 3. And trust me as someone who’s bought this the year it came out this game has somehow managed to age worse everytime I’ve played it

Every time I play thieves in time the more I’m convinced that Ms. decibel was partially responsible for Penelope’s behavior. Seriously, not only was decibel not originally started out in development with no hypnotic abilities along with Penelope originally intended to remain a protagonist, but other games made by sanzaru had protagonist made into villains via brainwashing, in fact her behavior nearly identical to ratchets behavior in Sanzaru’s “Secret agent Clank.”

Hey, been binge watching your sly tit series since yesterday. So youve finally arrived to THAT part. Fun fact for me but I remember the 1st loading screen tip I got was “penelope used to disguise herself as the black baron” which played before the opening cutscene on my 1st playthrough. So yeah, that was “fun” piecing that together

I wont say anything else about the story as I dont know exactly how much youve played, but I will say Since I saw your 1st vid you got ripped off paying $60 for that game, on launch it was $40 and personally I wouldnt say the games worth even half that. Uh to turn to a more positive note Ill ask what do you believe so far is the best or your favorite chapter so far in this game?

I'm planning on recording some more this week, therefore I haven't finished it, and I'm avoiding spoilers like crazy. Yeah the fact I paid so much to get the PAL version instead of the NTSC version as displayed was uh... concerning, but hey, it works, just crazy for a game that's 10 years old. Most and Least favorite chapters? Hard to say. Right now, Chapter 1 has to be my least favorite as it was sort of forgettable. Except... geisha hippo.. lol

@@SinnerBladeX fair enough, Personally that chapter was pretty weak, El Jefe to me felt like a misused character, he feels more like he shouldve had a larger role, especially given his shadows on the cover of the game. That and Rioichi despite what I do like unfortunately hes just kinda boring given theres not a lot of I guess exciting exchange between him and anyone else. He feels like he just kinda exists to play as a new cooper

The problem with Boyfriend is that his AI sucks. Instead of taking advantage of the fact that his B attacks are projectiles, he instead just runs up to the opponent. I’ve fought him a couple of times on IKEMEN GO and I've seen him do that all the time. That's a usual problem I notice with Forla's characters, their AIs usually don't take advantage of the characters moveset
