"...us who are being saved?" This verse from a modern bible (CSB) makes it pretty hard for pastors and Bible teachers to teach First Corinthians, chapter one. Exactly how does a pastor explain to his congregation that they aren't saved, they just think they are? The fact is, they don't teach it, they ignore it. They don't teach it because, if Paul is not saved, neither are you! Show this verse from one of the new bibles to your pastor and watch him instantly become a spin doctor, right before your very eyes. Imagine an honest missionary attempting to convert a heathen in a foreign land full of godless people like in NYC. Missionary: "Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life. He died on the cross and shed His blood that you might have eternal life. He was buried and rose from the dead on the third day, just as the scriptures said He would. He can be your personal savior if you will only believe this gospel." Heathen: "That's great news! Does that mean I am saved and won't have to face God's punishment for being a sinner? Missionary: "No, not exactly. I'm sorry, but you will only be in the process of being saved. You will be saved someday but I don't know exactly when that will happen. You must endeavor to persevere, and hopefully your salvation will be complete...someday. Don't forget that God loves you!" You don't have to worry about ever facing this situation IF you are using a KJB. The Holy Spirit makes sure you know you are saved if you believe the gospel: 1Co 1:18 KJV For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. Neither Alistair Begg nor any of the rest of you know what the base text is that the CSB is translated from; therefore, you have no Idea if it is accurate or not. You have nothing to compare it to. You can't read the Greek in the base text because the publisher won't tell you what the Greek base text is!

The CSB makes good choices. Glad I bought a reading Bible and Study Bible version. Mark Ward recommended reading the entire books in the CSB. Thank you!!

Is there a way I can e-mail someone who knows N.T. Greek and ask a few questions about translations?

I gave this translation a try because I was tired of waffling between the NKJV and NLT and based on quite a few charts and videos I had seen on where it falls on the translation spectrum. And I have to say I absolutely LOVE it. It’s exactly what I have been looking for! It’s early in but I’m already finding myself loving it.

4 letter acronyms are too challenging??? Really? Tell that to the NKJV and NASB folks. Let’s be honest. The H was removed to market this with appeal beyond Baptists. Don’t get me wrong, I like the CSB but let’s not confuse people.

FYI the KJV itself is a revision of the Bishop’s Bible with a bit of the Geneva Bible and Tyndale’s work sprinkled in

I love the CSB! It's my favourite translation because it's both literal and readable. Exactly what I was looking for in a Bible translation!

For years I've used the ESV for a formal equivalence translation and a NIV for a dynanic equivalence one. Recently I heard about the CSB, and its the best of both, so now its the translation I use every day!

I want to buy this Bible, but the Life Essentials App "Isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android." What gives? The app has not been updated since 2021, but you're stills selling the Bible. That's very disappointing, @ChristianStandardBible @LifeWayVideos!

I recently switched from the NIV to the CSB because the CSB has the perfect balance between literal and readable. I like that you use words like won't and there's instead of will not and there is, that makes the Bible more relatable for me because it's in today's English.

The CSB is my favourite translation. It's got that perfect mix between literal and readable, it's more literal than the NIV but more readable than the ESV, exactly the kind of translation I've been looking for.

I bought a CSB a few months back and it's already my favorite version to read. Easy to understand, and it flows so nicely.

I've recently been trying the CSB, I love it! It's replaced the NIV as my main Bible translation. It's very accurate, but it always stays readable too, and sometimes they do that by putting the literal translation in a footnote.

I've been trying the CSB for the last few days in my Bible app, and I love it, so I've permanently switched from the NIV to the CSB. It really has got that perfect mix of literal and readable, especially when they put a footnote in giving me the literal translation when they've gone more dynamic to stay readable. I especially like the way it translates John 3:16, it's actually more accurate to the Greek than the NIV. I like that the app has an audio version too, I'm blind, so I prefer to listen to the Bible being read by an actual person rather than by the speech on my phone.

I worked from my vehicle for over 20 years. I lived listening to this guy. I was in a big internal debate about this bible, after I bought it by grabbing it off a rack. I seen csb and started having issues with it for no true reason. So I studied and KZbin it. We've Rhone said it's a good bible but this guy....if he said it's OK, then I'm in. He has a great radio program, absolutely great.

I like the CSB and use it daily along with my NKJV. I have a few issues but overall I am happy with it. One of my favorite verses is Micha 6:8 and I don't like what many new translations are doing when trying to make (Man) more inclusive ..it ruins the poetic reading of the verse. CSB is a bit better than ...Oh Mortal...Oh Human...but not happy

The CSB is a very readable translation, I will give you that Why, though, does someone not produce the CSB in a Byzantine edition? The only reason I believe that the Critical Text manuscripts are older is because they weren't read as much as the Byzantine texts, so they didn't wear out as fast! I do not claim to be a scholar, but this is why I would like to see all of these versions also released in a Byzantine text version!

I love the CSB but I just wish I could find the 2020 edition in the size, font size, style and binding that I want. There seems to be a very limited selection and most of what you find is the 2017 edition.
