Klean Heat Kerosene Substitute works great. Available at Walmart. It is pricey. Regular K1 kerosene works great in these heaters - I add a few drops of denatured alcohol per tank to remove water contamination.

What is the price of jet-A?, is it cost efficient or is it 10 dollars a gallon?

Jet A will be absolutely zero issue, it will actually burn hotter and the tank will last longer as a result.

But does it smell? How do you buy jet a? Show up at the airport FBO with a drum? I think the filler nozzle too big for plastic gas can type containers

@FourthWayRanch it's very clean, no odor or at least very minimal. Yes, go to an FBO that provides fuel sales to aircraft. They will need to do regular "water checks" on their fuel. Ask if you can have the "slop" fuel from their daily checks. Most places need to pay to have it hauled away

@hobbyguy79 have you tried diesel and isopropyl alcohol? People report good results. If I got a 30 gallon drum trips to the airport for jet a wouldn't be too bad. I was thinking of making a still to see if I could pull kerosene out of diesel

No, alcohol will burn too hot and ruin the wick - dangerous too.

Get this stuff. It works so much better than K1. You can use diesel, but you need to add methanol.
