Why can't we have "mini" or "small" or "skid type portable" or "containerized" or "Barge" refineries? Small sweet light refineries that can be moved close to U.S. Oil locations like California or Alaska that are isolated from large scale refineries? People in Syria are able to do crude refining (stolen from trucks or pipelines) using large drums to get deisel, but of course the rest goes in the air or on the ground ... but they do it. What not ship them portable refineries so they don't pollute? VBolt has some skid based system that takes used motor oil and makes deisel. God, thank you for deliverance from evil and from wickedness. Thank you for salvations. Thank you for prevention of wounds. Thank you for goodness and prosperity and for generousness. Thank you for loving kindness. Thank you for finding and blessing and keeping our families, friends, neighbors and communities safe. Thank you for deliverance from rapes, murders, abuse, wrong turns, sins, misdeeds and for helping us deal with and handle and heal from sinning against you God. So, gasoline should be cheaper in my country but because they are only selling based on gasoline production only and all other products are neglected. I think this is pure robbery. Where are the other products going because according to this video, everything comes out at once from the distillation process.
@rolandplettАй бұрын
The production mix is regularly adjusted so that supply is consistent with demand for all the products coming out of the refinery. The prices for all products are a result of the supply and demand balance. Production rebalances based on that price movement.

As a child I was asked by my Dad's friend what I wanted to be and I said "a geologist". he thought I said "theologist" and had a serious expression as he replied "that is very deep". "Well some mines do go down 10,000 feet" and then he realised it was geology I was talking about and we all had a good laugh. Hollywood still thinks mining is in a small hole with a pickaxe....

WHY wire?
@rolandplett3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what prompted this question so more detail would help me respond. Wire is still the most reliable way to ensure that signals get where they need to go. It can be more expensive or impractical to run wire sometimes so we find ways to connect wirelessly and then engineer the reliability level to something we can live with.

How much cost for this oil platform and what is the procedure to start this. Can you please tell me about it?
@rolandplett3 ай бұрын
Oil wells range wildly in size and cost from a few barrels per day when they're close to retirement and some of the newest wells that are 1000's of barrels per day. At the high end there are off shore platforms that are an order of magnitude higher than that. Costs range as well but today all of them are in the millions of dollars.

Working in oil well logging for over 8 years starting as a field hand and then working on the electronics I learned about the tools they used from Open Hole, Completions and Production Logging. I’ve been in many of the facilities in Arctic Alaska.

I worked at the Freeport Mcmoran mine in Iran Jaya for eight months in 1994. This was a big mine. I got to see much of the process as I was supervising network installation from the mine to the port site spread out over 80 miles. When I was there is was a mountain at 13,000 ft and now it’s a hole in the ground. We used Cisco equipment. I remember when I left there was about 1,000 PCs and 1,100 terminals hooked to the network there. This was in 1994 so it was a pretty big network at the time.

Pretty cool. I worked in the oil field for many years starting in 1980 doing seismic work. Then I worked well logging starting as a field hand then working on the electronics for over 8 years. Then I did telecommunications in the oil field and 15 years along the Alaska Pipeline. This was all in Alaska.
