There’s a reason Suzuki engineers didn’t have top box mounts as an optional extra….top box, especially one that big, high and far back, really upsets the handling of the bike and detracts from the sports touring category. Personally I’d use a tank bag and tail pack, the panniers alone give you enough room for 10 days away.

That is a fair point. I agree you can still carry plenty of lugagge without top box just using panniers tank bag and even a roll bag. I totally agree with you for solo riding. However, for many riders the top box is more for the pillion comfort and security than anything else. So if people is considering this bike for 2 up riding, the no top box can be a deal breaker.

Because we have to filter down very congested motorways. It's a bit easier with a topbox compared to panniers. Ugly but functional.

It's not rocket science to do. It's why quick shifters are mostly a gimmick, at least for upshifts. Shift down without clutch requires more skill and isn't as quick.
