And they fill back up in less than two seasons. The sedum autumn joy is definitely a plant to only buy once and fill your garden with it forever. Happy gardening.

Thanks for revising this clip, it has inspired me to do something similar this fall. Some of the plants I used are: Red Russian Kale, Dusty Miller, and a Sweet Potato Wine.

Could you cut the stems back in the summer before they get so tall?
@theswissgardenvlog3189Ай бұрын
If you cut down the new growth there will be no stems for the sedum to bloom on. And this particular variety is at its normal height here. By dividing the sedum autumn joy it late fall/ early spring, it will stay compact and stand straight when it’s blooming.

The arborvitaes seem to be doing quite alright in the containers. They have put on some growth since I planted them last fall. But they would be bigger if they were planted directly in the ground.

Beautiful items. I wish my local antique store had most of these things.
@DocWiggles2 ай бұрын
How tall will these get & how long will they last in that small container? I ask because I am planting arborvitae in a narrow area & am worried about their root health, as I understand they like to have their roots spread out.
@theswissgardenvlog31892 ай бұрын
They cannot grow as tall in containers as they would in the free ground. However they will increase in height and volume in the containers if they are fed regularly and given adequate water during the summer season. These containers have enough room for this plant size.

@@theswissgardenvlog3189 Great, thanks for the answer. For perspective - I'm in Colorado Springs & will likely go with emerald green. My planter is more of a raised bed & rather narrow (3ft) but long & will contact the earth. Thanks again.

Beautiful garden. What plant zone are you in?
@theswissgardenvlog31893 ай бұрын
This area could be the equivalent of a zone 6. But I don’t know for sure. Zones are not a thing over here, so it’s hard to say with certainty.
