It's actually #2 - divorce rates have been on the decline, following a decades long trend mostly due to less people marrying and just living together instead

It cost more time than money. Just cost us the filing fee. We had one child when we divorced.
@TheAngelmabry4 ай бұрын
2 kids, we are both poor, filed ourselves, no custody fight, no alimony or child support. We spent about $100 just the filing fees... no lawyer needed if you have nothing to split and can be grownups regarding kids.

Happened during my divorce. I laid out a reasonable and fair agreement, including the finances and children access. She went to a lawyer, who advised her incorrectly (as the laws changed just before I left the family home and they hadn't kept up to date) for a "take it all" settlement, in the belief that I'd roll over like a puppy. Told her to go back to her lawyers and tell them, from me, that I'd see them in court for their licence to practice law and a huge amount of money should they choose to carry on down that route. She came back with "and how do you know all that?". "Easy!" I said. "I have internet access and I can read". They agreed my settlement plan within the week. The cherry on the cake was that she was getting paid from the company I set up, to handle phone calls, trips to the bank, etc., and I got to fire her A$$.

I helped my girlfriend get divorced after a 5-year relationship thousands of dollars spent thousands of hours of dates and she just cheated on me three times and through everything down the drain don't ever get financially involved with anybody and the woman always cheats doesn't matter how good I was to her sit down plays it all to justify her cheats with some type of narcissistic reasoning to justify abuse and cheating I literally found out on her honeymoon that's how narcissistic she is to me and she's been mad at me ever since because I won't give her more money even though she's not even married to me

I remember I was dating a girl, and her friend was planning her divorce without the knowledge of her husband. She asked my ex girlfriend to print her some documents about divorce law, which she did. At night she showed up and they started reading them. Nah she couldn’t do the whole thing so the bitch asked my ex I just need the money part. I was like nah I’m definitely not getting married.

People who have never been divorced before have better than 50% odds of staying married until death. There are also tons of things you can do to get the odd to like 90% success rate, like waiting until you are over 23 years old and finding someone with the same religious views.
