I've seen videos where others have done it. I may put some up on top of the ROPS at some point, but really haven't needed to operate after dark yet. If you mean replacing the stock lights with LED, I've seen videos for that as well.

I really have loved it so far. We have neighbors who live below us fulltime, (we share the first 1,000 ft) but they have no means to maintain the gravel drive other than shovels and rakes. Time and water (washouts) forced my hand to buy when I did, since our road was getting in terrible shape after 2 years of essentially no maintenance. No regrets!

The most common issue I’ve seen with lever parking breaks is the tension created by pulling the break up is basically concentrated onto the button. All that’s required is to pull up on the break to relieve some of that tension (it wont move but just a tiny bit) hold that tension up while you press the button (it should be much easier to press the button down) and then you can completely release the break. I’ve seen more than a few strong men struggle with the button until they learned that little trick. You may have already known and tried this, in which case you might have to take some stuff apart to investigate, because there’s a few other things that could be the issue which are slightly too complicated to type out in a comment section. Hope it helps, nice tractor!

I also purchased the 2038r last summer, my first tractor. I have the backhoe, brush hog, box blade, grapple, heavy hitch, tiller, Artillian pallet forks and several items from Ken’s Bolt on hooks. I’m very happy with the tractor and had no issues yet. I’m in NE FL on flat land. I went with the 2038 for the PTO power over the smaller options. My first thought was the 1025, then 2025 and finally landed on the 2038r.

Thanks for watching and sharing! Sounds like you have the attachments about covered! The next item I need is a standard rear blade to help shape some ditches. I have used the box blade for that to some extent, but I think a scraper blade will be better suited for it -- really need to have the capability of offsetting further past my rear tires so I can shape the edge of my steep roads and I need to keep all 4 wheels on the road at all times.
@davidp5561
@davidp5561 8 ай бұрын
@@LittleCabin I took advantage of the Deere zero percent financing and added most of the attachments. This year I purchased the pallet forks, which has been so useful and the Heavy Hitch which really adds capabilities. I think the rear blade will really help you out and lots of ballast.
@LittleCabin
@LittleCabin 8 ай бұрын
Yeah, I also did the 0% financing, but just started to have a bit of sticker shock, especially once I decided to add the backhoe.

Some nice work. IF you do decide to sell instead of worrying about Etsy or other places, maybe try locally first? I would think with the materials, stains/paint, time, and hardware that if you can sell for maybe $60 and be a good profit. The more intricate ones you showed, maybe $75 for those and obviously more for the table version if you built the whole thing. As you do more, you will get quicker, and things become more streamlined. Good luck if you do go that route. Best to you and yours.

How cold is it getting at night?
@LittleCabin
@LittleCabin Жыл бұрын
It was below freezing (maybe 28) for a couple nights, but in the 40s the rest of the week we were collecting. The weather wasn't ideal -- we caught the trees right at the tail end of the season, but we were just trying to time our scheduled vacation with seasonal average temperatures, so we had to take what we could get.

It is not going to work. The ditch is too narrow and not deep enough. The culvert is too small and not deep enough. The way you have it will crush in a short period of time. The bottom of the ditch should be at least two feet wide. The angle of the embackment is too steep. The culvert should be heavyer steel and twice the size. With the hillsides and the trees you have it is not even close. IT WILL FLOOD ON YOUR NEXT STORM! AND WASHOUT THE ROAD WITH IT. To see what I mean check out Post10 on his culvert clearing. You will see what I mean. Steven Sipes

Thanks for watching and the interest! To be honest, I have only made these for family members so far. I have considered making some to sell at some point, but am not really sure about it yet. A couple factors are sort of holding me back at the moment: (1) I haven't really even thought about how to price them, and (2) they are pretty heavy, and would likely cost a decent amount to ship somewhere. I have seen some similar types of items for sale on Etsy, and the prices seem to be all over the map. This one ended up going on our cabin, but I will eventually do another one to mount on our shed -- maybe I'll make some sort of decision by then! Thanks again!

You sound like me when it comes to thinking about things. Sometimes I do more thinking than doing, but I want to be satisfied with it when I’m done. As far as thinking . . . I’d bet more accidents occur from a lack of thinking rather than thinking too much. I believe we are on the right track. Your ditch work looks great! . . . looks well thought out. 😄 You have a great rest of your weekend! - Samuel

Thanks for subscribing! As you may now realize, I'm new to tractors, and my wife and I are just starting to get some content put together and posted, so we really appreciate the support! Yeah, I was thinking it would be best to get that stuff off the driveway, because any new material I get will just sit on top, and not really do a good job of packing in -- a couple chunks came off with my box blade, but not sure how much ,more I can get out myself. I'll check your channel out - thanks again!

I wouldn’t put any new gravel on until you get a ditch cut. You might try adjusting your rear lift arms to put a tilt on the box blade and cut cut that bank side lower. It would probably help some until you get a ditch.
@LittleCabin
@LittleCabin 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I really want to address the steep bank and official ditch before new gravel. The ditch has been cut in a few times over the years, but just keeps filling with erosion...so, need to address that bank before anything else is done on a permanent basis. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the overview. I sure do like your cabin! I got some land in the Ozarks and I'm trying to figure out if I want to develop it. I'd like to add a small cabin or maybe build a camp site and park an RV there. I'm watching Walnuts and Wineberries here on KZbin and I saw your comment, so I searched, and here you are! If you don't mind sharing, I would like to know the story with the cabin - who designed it, who built it, what did it cost, what did you learn (mistakes to avoid), etc. Thanks!
@LittleCabin
@LittleCabin 2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on being the first commenter! But seriously, thanks for watching and the questions. The cabin was on the property when we bought it. It was originally built around 1950, but had been abandoned, then was renovated a few years ago by the individual we bought it from. Outside of that, I can't tell you much about designers, etc!
