They were fantastic, famous and unknown all at the same time.

Johnny Cash was so right when he said they were the most talented family ever encountered. They did a great cover of the Mamas and the Papas hit and yes, Susan had great dance moves. I also like the guys’ suits. It’s a crime that Johnny’s TV show wasn’t on longer (I believe this was from Season 2) because it was so refreshing from some of the stuff that was on the tv at the time. Do you remember when he made that cameo appearance in the Partridge Family’s first episode? It brought him full circle in terms of the Cowsill and The Partridge Family (which was supposed to be the Cowsills’ break through but others thought differently. They would have been good playing themselves. But Shirley Jones and David Cassidy were also good. Good times from my past are always fun.

Susan and Barry moved to New Orleans in the 1990's. Sadly, Barry passed away days after Hurricane Katrina. Susan still lives and plays music in New Orleans in 2024 where she's raising her two daughters. She was in a great local band named the Continental Drifters who was the house band Uptiwn at Carrollton Station for a few years.

Well, he almost nails Denny Doherty's phrasing... which is not easy. Great harmony... audio sync is out.

If Bob is gonna be singing this, he should have some hair. Just saying.

Pretty sure the "new" verse was one that they removed from the original song from the musical.

This song is bittersweet for me. I was about 10 years old when this song came out. The hippie look was all the rage. Psychedellic colors, fringed vests and purses. It was a fun time. Hippie Power was what America needed in the late Sixties. Young people wanted to unite and be heard. A lot of great songs that will always touch my heart. Ahhhh....to be young.
