Fuck you if you think you're getting Nemec or Hughes. We'll wait and keep building through the draft and young prospects. It's worked great for us so far. The Devil's don't need Meier, he would be a luxury

Holtz might be the 3rd prospect in the NJ system but he'd still become the best prospect the Sharks have. Both Hotlz and Eklund were 7th overall picks a year apart and are supposedly childhood friends from Sweden who form a sniper-playmaker duo, Holtz is at 1 PPG in the AHL while Eklund is .75 PPG. (ranked 22nd and 23rd respectively by the Athletic, meanwhile Luke is ranked 2nd and Nemec is 4th out of all prospects league wide *untouchable*) Mukhamadullin would become the Sharks best D prospect, he's a 6'4" 21yr who has over 160 KHL games under his belt (in his 4th pro season, has 64 games and 25 pts this year). He was drafted 20th is already under NHL contract and has said he plans to return to NA for the AHL playoffs in the spring. Aatu Raty the prospect the Islanders moved was drafted 52nd and was scoring at a .55 PPG (he has 1 assist in 7 games since..). Tarasenko went for a 4th round AHL scrub and picks. The Leafs gave up another nobody 4th round propect and picks. While yes Timo will cost a top level prospect, that doesn't mean it has to be our best prospect.. The Athletic rated the Devils as having the 2nd best prospect pool, they could offer their 5th/6th best prospect while still giving up a blue chip who is most likely better than any other prospect that is being offered by whoever else.

Definitely not getting 2 defensive prospects. It will probably be a player on a expiring contract, a 1st round pick and 1 defensive prospect

Could definitely see one of the Devils top prospects go back the other way. Meier is a major trade asset who's not set to hit the open market and he's only 26

No Luke Hughes will not be going anywhere. That is the funniest thought in the world 😂. If nemec magically got moved, you aren't getting a first round pick as well. And Sharangovic may have to go to make it work. I'd hate to see it but that may be the reality. They won't take tatar and he's a better fit on the devils right now anyways.

Problem with that is tomorrow is not guaranteed. You have a few back to back injuries and there goes your season possibly. So there’s a flip side.

@@pucksbrewspodcast5307 I think we are definitely gonna get him too many weird things going on first the reports are that Fitzy & Grier were heavily in trade talks for 48+ hours & then Holtz gets sent down to Utica and totally dissociates himself with The Devils by wiping all of his Devils stuff off all of his socials and now Timo Meier being out of the lineup tonight against Seattle I mean they say it’s an upper body injury but it ain’t too serious and day to day (they say that, but I think it’s traded related obviously) & then Timo goes to Mexico 🇲🇽 with Hischier, Haula, Tatar & Siegenthaler on Vacation during All Star ⭐️ Break. Too many things adding up here I mean Canes fans can be hopeful if they want any other teams fans can be hopeful but I’m pretty sure we can all agree that everything is pointing heavily in the direction of Timo Becoming A Devil 😈 the pieces of the puzzle 🧩 is all starting to come together and the Stars ⭐️ are aligning also Bastian sitting out 2 games in a row and yesterday during the middle of the game he left the locker room no one knows where he went. 👀

Like with all of these kinds of sell type trades, the team with the best player wins the trade for now. Bo Horvat is a great player, even if he's not going to be a 40 or 50 goal scorer going forward. He does so many things well. He was a plus player this year on an awful defensive team. Going forward, we'll see how the trade ages. If Beauvillier becomes a useful top 6 or top 9 forward or someone the Canucks can flip at the deadline or Raty becomes a top 6 forward or the 1st round pick develops into something really good, the Canucks win long term. But we'll have to see. I don't understand why the Islanders would do this at this point where they are in the standings, but as a Canucks fan, that's not my problem. I just know that if they keep him, the fans on Long Island will love him as much as they love MJF. He's one of those players that even when he's not putting up points, he's doing so many other things that fans appreciate that nobody cares. I've been down on the Canucks pretty much since 2013 when they should have listened to Trevor Linden, but not on Bo. Even before this season, he was an under appreciated centre around the league. And he's a playoff performer.
