I've sold 2 VT-15 unit (serial #018 and #019) in 2017 cause i was Financially tight. I tought i was simply going to purchase two other new VT-15 a year later, knowing i was going to be financially able to purchase & get back those same units for my recording studio. Can you imagine my surprise when I've found that Douglas W. Fearn administration ceased to produce this unit. You will understand the disappointment of not being able to reacquire even one other VT-15, not to hope for two more. I’m terribly sorry that I sold mine. If I had known I would have kept my units. The option to purchase a VT-2, a VT-4 and a VT-7 to replace my two VT-15 would cost me $25,000 USD instead of $9,700 USD which I paid for the 2 VT-15; an additional expense of $15,000. I would like to understand what bring DW Fearn Co to stop this unreplaceable and invaluable unit, at an quite affordable cost for those of us who dispose a limited budget. Very curious decision from the Fearn administation. Sincerely, Luc Sylvestre (Québec, Canada).

Thanks for these. I have some various gear and can't find any tutorials on how any of this actually works anywhere. Ive been watching your videos and you actually explain how to use them in action. Appreciate it Mr Fearn... Hope to pick up your gear.

what is a mic pre amp used for? sorry for the stupid question

Young Jay -In case you haven't had your question answered by now: A mic pre takes the signal from your microphone and amps it to a level suitable for recording. Mics do nothing on their own. Live performance requires the mic go thru a pre in "the board". The pre is the module between the mic and the power section of the amp OR between the mic and the tape or computer you are recording on.
