Hey there, you're truly a blessing, sent from the heavens to help those seeking information. I was hoping you could clarify something for me. 1. Do big tech companies like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft visit Australian universities, such as the University of Melbourne (UNIMEL) or RMIT, for internship opportunities or job recruitment? 2. Internship opportunities for the student enrolled at universities like RMIT ? 3. From International Student Perspective, Quality of education + Internship + Employment opportunities matter the most.
@ChoosingYourUni3 күн бұрын
G'day - thanks for the kind words. Yes, many Australian universities (including non-Group of 8 institutions) have good relationships with the largest companies. Usually you'll find the details on their websites... every university is interested to share details of their strong industry linkages. With regards to RMIT, I can't tell you specifically because they have hundreds of relationships and it depends what you're studying. I recommend looking on the webpage for the Faculty you're thinking of study in. Noted on point 3 - I think those are important factors for all students :)

Hello mate, recently applied for a BSc physics at La Trobe and BSc Space Science at RMIT. Haven’t received a reply yet from RMIT but La Trobe has me accepted on a 25% scholarship, should I take up the offer or is it worth waiting for RMIT?
@ChoosingYourUni18 күн бұрын
Argh, that’s a hard one. My gut feeling purely based on program is RMIT, but that doesn’t account for scholarship and other things that might be important to you.
@mylifeisabruheffect694617 күн бұрын
@@ChoosingYourUni Really is, planning on being an astrophysicist down the line so I doubt my current bachelors university reputation matters as much considering both are fairly reputed with RMIT still being slightly more than La Trobe, however I’m going into the MSc. I’m a commencing student next year in March and although I’m studying through Deakin online I love the Burwood campus. Looks fantastic and seems like the perfect, quiet university for those wanting to get away from the big smoke of Melbourne city/Metro Victoria. The sports management course (Bachelor of Business majoring in Sports management) looks to be really well set out and with a deep, well maintained connection with the Geelong Cats footy club, it was a no brainer decision for me to get my foot in the door with an established, successful AFL club while also opening the door to networking with people working in the same industry that I’d love to be working in, in the not so distant future. I was looking at doing sports management with another university (won’t name and shame) but I felt that I had a better opportunity of getting my foot in the door working either with the AFL or with an AFL club with Deakin Uni. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Deakin and I’m itching to get started next year. 🙂

Hi Rob, I'm conflicted about bachelor of IT at QUT or Uni of Sunshinecost due to location. Would it be a bad decision to go with USC over QUT?
@ChoosingYourUni18 күн бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply. Very different unis and experiences in my opinion. QUT probably the stronger academically, and more linked in to business opportunities given its location in the heart of Brisbane, but USC for lifestyle and more intimate campus experience - less stress and pressure and the possibility to live near the coast. Overall, personally I’d probably choose QUT for that one, but I do love the USC life.

Hi, Thanks for informative video. I'm currently stuck between Griffith and Monash for Masters of Social Work program. Which one would you recommend?
@ChoosingYourUni18 күн бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply - an interesting question: these are two quite different unis based on location, cost, and prestige. Social work is an accredited degree so the programs, by design, have to be quite similar as they must cover the same core content. So given both have to be similar with the course, I’d look at the other elements of study and decide based on that: uni reputation, cost, living costs, city location etc

Many of the locations in this video are not actually on the University of Adelaide's campus. The starting salaries probably reflect Adelaide's salaries generally which are lower then the eastern states. Many of the graduates go on to work in Adelaide (because their family is here) so their starting salaries will reflect the market in Adelaide.
@ChoosingYourUniАй бұрын
Re: locations - all the footage is from the campus or the immediate surrounds on North Terrace (or a minute away on Rundall Mall). Good observation about starting salaries - that’s a nuance that isn’t picked up in Australian Government data. I’ll be sure to include a clarification about cost of living factors in future videos. Thanks for the contribution!

Nothing wrong with an MBA! I LOVE the marketing work out of UniSA. Their work on branding and positioning is incredible. Note that UniSA and UoA are merging in 2026 to become Adelaide Univeristy, which will be one of the top unis in Australia… so you can’t really go wrong! Check to see what qualification you will actually receive: from one of the individual unis, or from the merged uni.

Hey rob, I am planning on doing master of management and i have got offer from uni Melbourne, UTS and Macquarie. Could you suggest Which one would be the best out of these for the particular course?
@ChoosingYourUniАй бұрын
Hi! Three excellent degrees and universities. In terms of “prestige”, the order is Melbourne, Macquarie, UTS. However, each of those programs has some real highlights. I’d particularly look at the industry collaboration they have, and look at the curricula to see which electives suit you best. Finally, Sydney and Melbourne are quite different cities (cost of living cheaper in Melbourne) and MQ and UTS are in different parts of the city, which might influence your decision too. Good luck!

Hi. as an international student, I would like to work part time and pay tuition fees. Please recommend a university location where i easily find part time jobs. I would be super super thankful. not ashamed to say family is not well off. thank you so much.
@ChoosingYourUniАй бұрын
I understand. Many many students work while studying to pay their fees. Work is only one element. You also want to think about cost of living. For example, Sydney is VERY expensive, so i wouldn’t choose Sydney. Cities like Adelaide and Perth are MUCH cheaper, but still with lots of work available. You could also consider one of Australia’s excellent regional universities: USQ, CSU, and CQU are the standouts to me. For a completely unique experience, Charles Darwin has some areas of strength, depending on what you want to study. Good luck!

@ChoosingYourUniАй бұрын
Adelaide is a good program, soon to merge with UniSA... so it's going to be epic! Entry into medicine is challenging. Even full-fee paying places are limited. I've heard many stories of students moving interstate in order to take up a place. But it all depends on your academic background. For part time jobs, there's plenty of basic work in Adelaide, places like Maccas or at cafes or supermarkets.

@ChoosingYourUniАй бұрын
Sorry for the delay replying! My undergrad was in envisci at MQ, so I am quite a fan, but I am biased there! TBH, all three of these unis have great science programs, so it’s worth to look into the detail to see if one of them has electives or specialisations that talk most to you. Melbourne and Sydney are very different cities, so that’s a consideration too. RMIT is inner city, and both MQ and Deakin are suburban, with MQ having a lot more around its campus, like a huge mall and lots of businesses.
