Del is so good, this is his concept album. So all the songs take place in the year 3030. But all his music is amazing. If you like the professorial style Blackalicious has some songs that are 10/10. Highly recommend. But if you want to really get into the underground you have to do deeper. Check out Hangar 18. Alaska and Windnbreeze were so good. And mostly overlooked. Sleep from Olddominion. Junk Science, Edan. And newer stuff like Common Market and Blue Scholars are out here setting the bar for activists. No need to review them. Loved the review, keep up the good work

This came out in 1992, around the same time you had groups like Das EFX and Fu-Schnickens with that fast flow. This song was produced by Terminator X of Public Enemy. The Bomb Squad was the production crew for Public Enemy, and after blowing up with PE and producing Ice Cube’s debut solo album “AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted” they were in demand and set up a record label of their own. They signed YBT and were working with another group at the time. Both groups wanted to use the name “Leaders Of The New School” and it ended up going with Busta Rhymes and his crew. The Bomb Squad made the decision to call the other group Young Black Teenagers despite the group being neither black or teenagers. I always found it funny in an ironic way, but the name really hindered them and rubbed a lot of people in the hiphop community the wrong way. They were just credited as YBT on their second album.

Didn’t love her singing the verses but the lyrics and chorus were 🔥. I’m going to explore this rabbit hole myself.

Hydroponic definitely referencing their weed smoking back in the day. Also the astronomy part is them talking about the interesting part of how electrons rotate around atoms the same way stars in a galaxy rotate around each other. It's hard to hear all their lyrics, but they are pretty philosophical asking about the meaning of life and throwing out science theories in some songs.

Okay, I wasn't aware that your other channel was still a virgin. I did a search and you have not done the song that breaks in almost all reactors. You have got to check out JINJER - Pisces (Live Session)

I hope you liked it. I hope you will check out this rabbit hole. Their first video, that I know of, Beautiful Tragedy is a banger. Gunshow, Big Bad Wolf, Sick Like Me, Roots and so on. Maria Brinks has got a set of lungs on her. Plenty of pun intended...lol

Someone who is gonna check this band out but not react. Would you recommend starting with Beautiful Tragedy and going in order or have a must start with album by them? Thanks

@@t21luv I would start with Beautiful Tragedy video then hit The Promise (duet),Gun Show, Sex Metal Barbie, Big Bad Wolf and Roots. By that time you should be in love with the band and then deep dive their albums. All their stuff is really good. Their Black Widow album is a little different but still good.

i got a soft spot for this group- sometimes- they are tight musically but sometimes can come off corny- that being said the song "plain" is the best joint on this album- my stoney baby is also good- don't matter what i suggest unless i do a cash request lol so this is all jibber jabber

This song and Unity, which is the song right before on the album, are the first two 311 songs I ever heard. I was instantly hooked. P.S. - it's about hydroponic weed 😂

That is the way great music should be doing the people makes them feel regardless of what type of song it is whether it be something hype like this or something slow and sad or whatever but always remember regardless of power music is the most powerful thing out there and it has been proven cuz you can attach a certain song to just about every part of your life

Its so funny to think back we this came out. I had a couple of buddies that would practice dance moves to this. They would always try and out do each other. We had a teen dance club at a miniature golf course\arcade\waterslide\batting cage place. I didn't go to it, I can't dance for S**t. I'd play the video games and chill... I had a Levis black acid wash trench coat and thought I was the King S**t! lol
