I have the same setup, with a warn winch. I put the ditch lights where your putting them when I mounted mine. Looks badass man.

I think that they were trying to help you take them ugly taillights and they weren't unable to succeed. Think of it as a community service.

I'm happy for you that the little pricks didn't take your tailgate. As a 4runner owner and into a lot of overlandding, I couldn't imagine seeing my pride and joy getting stuff ripped off and leaving me with that son of a bitchers feeling, if it's possible can you install two of those locks, one at each end.
