I like 👍🏼 the French seam at the end so you can have cuffed hems. Might try this when I put in a 3/4 sleeve on blouses.

What is pattern tracing for? I remember cutting out patterns for my mom when I was a kid.
@gabiolson48887 күн бұрын
@@TheEvie202 it’s so you can still you other pattern sizes- if you cut out one size, you are kind of out of luck if you end up needing a different size. It also allows you to have a little bit more control of any adjustments- you are better able to use a traced pattern to make any pattern adjustments you may need (full seat adjustment, length, etc)

Any tips for when I am altering a store dress--shortening it. I have issues with the foot going over the side seams...

I have finally been able to complete a perfect straight line! How do you feed the fabric around curves when it on the bias, I always seem to get to much, then too little fabric. Can’t seem to keep in consistant

I have a similar problem but I need to leave a Chanel for a drawstring. Would you recommend after Ironing for me to stretch and stitch about 1/8th” down from top of waistband leaving room for the drawstring and then another row at bottom up equal amount? Or maybe and a second row down from top and then meadure for the drawstring?

Thank you for making a straight forward video. I’m going to practice tomorrow.

I can’t believe I just came across your video! I handed down my FAVORITE Levi shorts that I have had since I was 18 to my 24 year old daughter and two button holes need that same repair! I bought them to a tailor last week and was turned away saying she could not do it. I was shocked and frustrated with her refusal. It truly surprised me. I set them aside and figured I would try it myself! Your video is a Godsend to me! I am gathering my supplies right now and going to get started. Only difference is, I am not doing with a sewing machine. I am going to do it by hand. Thank you, thank you, thank you! My “vintage” beat up jean shorts from 4 decades ago can happily live on!!!🩷💕🩷

Would you happen to have a tutorial on shortening full length sleeves on a stretch material dress? I want to shorten the sleeves on mine quite a bit. Not turn it into a sleevless dress but short capped sleeves if that makes sense? I'm not sure how well it would work though.

I cannot believe how useful this video had been for me. I have been one of those people that never messed with the settings on my overlocker. OMG !!! thank you so much for this video. Now I know why I've had problems with some of the fabric I've used in the past. This has just been a fabulous learning experience for me and I cannot thank you enough.
