You can find Kronos quartet performing this acoustically on youtube with so much better sound, yes, Kronos has superstar players better than these players, but these players are plenty good enough to give good sound if they would just unplug, Do audiences equate power and emotion to amplified loudness? Sad. String instruments are made to play beautifully loud without the amplification distortion. Great forte loudness comes from powerful musical expression, not from electrical amplifiers. Amplification is good when I do regular fiddling in a bar, this music deserves better.
