Mirotic was underrated in his NBA days, better on both ends than Wood has ever been. Wood has always been an empty stats type, that doesn't translate to wins. OG, of course, is much better than either of those guys at their best, so that does illustrate Randle's fit.
@BlackIceTheory3 күн бұрын
What is the possibility of going after Walker Kessler?? Now with Isaiah no longer on the Knicks and Mitchell Robinson out for possibly up to half a season the Knicks certainly cannot expect to make up for the loss of defense, the rebounding (especially on the offensive side) and passing ability those two centers provided last year. The Knicks present perimeter defense cannot be expected to pick up that load never mind how the team will get waxed on the boards. Walker Kessler could easily relieve the team of those needs with his skill set and can possibly become the starting center with Mitch coming off the bench. What say you❓✌🏽😎🏀

Talking about how Quickley, RJ & Grimes struggled with their three point shot in the playoffs, while Deuce's didn't. Small sample size with Deuce, and the aforementioned three former players did so as part of the starting line up, therein, more pressure. Nothing against Deuce, I think we're all learning just what he brings. Defensively he has potential as an on-ball defender.. I always feel funny about small guards, I understand that Jalen is super small.. Anyways.. Just thinking out loud through keyboard.
@LockedOnKnicks4 күн бұрын
Deuce took twice as many threes in last year's playoffs that Grimes did in 2022-23 and made 7% more of them. Sample size isn't an issue

10yrs ago I would have picked Morris. Squad balance etc. But I’ve realised stockpiling positions is just as important as a balanced squad. With a balanced, when a trade is made, chances are the squad will be unbalanced. You’re unlikely to swap the same types of players. But if you stockpile on guards, and trade a guard for a big, you can find that balance again. Especially if it’s better than the first example. I’m hoping our guards do well so we can trade Deuce for a big because our squad is nearly perfect assuming one of the new guards (Payne, Kolek, Shamet) show out. I’d also think we can sign both if we trade for example Sims+McBride for one player like Richard’s
@LooseJointhiphopdance5 күн бұрын
I feel that Morris could make it because we already have enough guards but don’t have enough big men. If Randle should get hurt Morris could step in a kind of full that role. Not sure if he can do it better than P. O. Shamet can’t take minutes from Donte
@chrisstfort77 күн бұрын
What he lacks in rim protection he makes up for with switch-ability. He’s not dominant guarding centers or guards but he can hang with both. As for his jumper, if he can improve to a 33% clip from deep this will be enough to keep defenses honest.
@MrSqclean8 күн бұрын
FWIW, Kolek is listed at 6'3"... which is actually above the average height for an NBA PG. Looking forward to seeing him actually standing next to JB to see if that's true, but seems like he's actually not a "small guard." Small as a combo, maybe, but given his passing, he's more of a true PG than a combo.

@marclaguardia35298 күн бұрын
as for Precious and the 3-ball - if it’s ever going to happen, it will happen on this Knicks team because he will have enough bonafide shooters around him that he will have extra split-seconds to get shots up.

Well, Simm’s professional back is up against the wall here. The team needs him to make a leap. Maybe he’ll actually do it. Robinson never made good on his summer work. What he is is pretty damn good, but a jump-shooting Simms would give them some versatility, there. Fingers crossed.

We need Morris over Shamet, not even close. Morris fills a role that we need. Let’s say Robinson gets hurt AGAIN, then we have more flexibility when we want to play Randle at the 5. Between Divo, Deuce, Payne and Kolek off the bench and JB and Bridges starting, we are fully stacked at the guards. I really hope they keep Morris, he’s a solid player and a dawg. Exactly what the Knicks are all about
@geraldfilsaime924911 күн бұрын
I agree with everything your guest said about Dadiet. Remember we gave up a lot of our picks. We have plenty of time to let him develop into a solid role player. He doesn’t have to be Kawhi, Bridges or James Worthy. We didn’t think Bridges was going to Kawhi but he turned into Bridges. So let Dadiet become Dadiet. It’s up to him how fast he adapts. Worst case scenario we trade him for a future pick. Let’s go Knicks. 🙏🏿💛💙💪👏🏿

Seems like we're at least a year away from a potential call up, unfortunately. Because I agree, he def showed out in SL and I'd probably have rather had him than Payne. But once he inked his deal in the Israeli league it seemed pretty likely we're another year away from seeing him in NY. Unless there's a big mid season trade that guts the roster or something and he's able to get bought out of his Israeli deal and come over
