I remember coming here once late at night, my parents one weekend took us for a night drive up to London and we had got a burger from somewhere, David pointed to me and mimicked eating the burger and then rubbed his stomach, allegedly anyway I was about 5 so I believe I remember it but it could just be a programmed memory from pleasing parents.

Apparently his girlfriend was living in a caravan on the ground right below his box for the whole time he was there. That would have been reassuring for him. I remember newspaper photographers were there 24 hours a day, so if he thought he could wait until 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning before going to the toilet he was mistaken - the photographers were there then too.

I feel like this is a lot less impressive than what it's billed as. The record for fasting is 382 days, believe it or not. I've personally made it for 34 days when I was doing ministry work and after the first several days you don't even start to feel that hungry once your body starts breaking down fat. I'm sure that he and his team made sure that he was going into it with a very nutritionally rich diet that would have given his body everything he needed to make the process as painless as possible. Moreover, I'd say that anyone who has spent extended periods of time in solitary confinement without all the fan-fair has gone through something way more challenging, even if they did get to eat every day.

Also as time went on his body odor was so bad he vomited multiple times and people could smell him from the crowd and he started to get embarrassed and emotional from being teased. People threw diapers at him and people told him to do a pull ups but referred to the diaper to tease him he cried a lot towards the end and it got weird he claimed and was done they needed hazmat suits to retrieve the stinky son of a bitch I guess too according to his account of events. It was 19 years this week since David Blaine completed his London Bridge stunt. Surviving on just water for six weeks whilst contained 24/7 within a 7ft x 7ft x 3ft clear box hoisted high above the River Thames was an astonishing feat. Blaine was mocked, taunted and verbally abused whilst the clear box in which he was held was regularly attacked with missiles of all forms. Online Blaine Baiting websites & groups were created to discuss ways of disturbing his sleep, barbequing food close to his glass box to torment him amongst other things to intensifying his mental & physical suffering with the ultimate aim of 'breaking him' and forcing him to abandon the challenge but six weeks after entering the box, the box was brought down and a weak starved and 4 stone lighter Blaine was helped out before being rushed to hospital to begin his recovery. As much as some folk disliked the guy what he achieved was remarkable.
