Wow, I came across your blog about this location some years ago, but just found these videos! I lived/worked here in 2002. Me and another Kiwi girl lived in the green building above the 3D theatre. She did the sheep shows, and I worked in the amusement areas (archery mostly) as I can speak some Japanese. As Kerry mentioned above, Robbie used to be the NZ correspondent who would recruit NZers from farming backgrounds and train them to do the sheepshows at the various parks around Japan. I took my wife there around 2007, which must have been just before it closed. This brings back great memories!

Hi, I have to ask, is this in the Yamaguchi prefecture? As I have a feeling I've been here back in 2016. I worked in Shimonoseki, at the university there at the time. Sorry to comment on such an old video

I worked security off and on from 1987-1989. It was very interesting looking at this video. I worked in the guard building back then. We also drove around the site for security purposes. Whenever we would see our daily duty assignment for the next day and get "site 8", it would always put a smile on our face. It meant, at least 8 hours without any supervisors poking around, lol. We could pretty much do whatever we wanted. The midnight shift was boring but it still meant that you wouldn't be bothered by anything.

The fact that the school had to close because it was too small is not the whole truth, since I was in this school for over 10 years, you should know that the school was built with asbestos materials, which are carcinogenic, so the school had to be demolished. What I can't understand is that the extension, i.e. the swimming pool and the gymnasium that you filmed, was a new building that wasn't built with asbestos and was also torn down. In general it hurts when you grew up in this school and have to see it like that. I would like to thank you very much for the recordings you took. I would like to share your film with the people in my group who went to this Martinsschule there and hope you don't mind? Many greetings Florentina thank you so much

My main focus was always on the blog - text and photos. The videos were kind of a byproduct. When my video camera broke a few years ago, I stopped taking videos... so I only upload stuff on KZbin when I publish an old location on the blog that I've explored before the camera broke.

Yeah, my video is more than four years old by now and the stupa is rather isolated, so there is pretty much zero risk of catching anybody’s attention when going there. Though it’s not nearly “Japan’s Creepiest Abandoned Building” - I’ve been to plenty of others that were way more nerve-wrecking, for example this abandoned laboratory that developed blood tests for dogs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y53GnZRvhJpjaac
