You have some good pairings going on for sure.. Good luck on getting that distance blood established in the loft.. Was hoping you'd make it back to the Martinez Classic this year. It'd be a good OLR to test the new distance blood..

I know, it would be nice, but I'm definitely cutting back. This year's NJ Anniversary race will be enough to test my breeding and my birds, no doubt, plus I'm also in the WTCM and most of all other Specials. It will be nice to compete with some offspring you and Steve at @DanzaLoft will have competing!!

so are you deliberately pairing long body, big wing birds together? or are you going more off the pedigrees/race sheets?

I look at both, body 1st because in the pedigree 2nd but if the bird breeding is itself proven at the distance I'll breed from it, but I'm careful on the pedigree because if the parents show 1 proven at the distance and the other only proven short I'll be skeptical but if both parents proven at the distance I'll go for it. But remember that not all children are special at what one wants. In the end is testing testing testing

She's lucky and she's special my friend, she's Maydis Loft family material. She's grandma to this year's Bayshore's Ace Pigeon and 60th Champ Bird at CJC Combine of over 3,000 birds racing, not too shabby 😉

Short bio on 444. Daughter of TRex, he has produced winners with multiple hens. She is full sister to Scarlet (PINE 33) that raced at Little Loft on the Hill 2023. She is full sister to PINE 427 who was 2 times equal first from 350 and 385 at Martinez OLR. She herself also raced very well for Maydis loft last year 😁

Appreciate the update and the pigeons look amazing gonna be a great year this year good luck and that hen you sent me is a Identical copy of the father dyrk van dijke you have i mean dark check feathering and dark red eyes she is my favorite hen in my loft she is very interactive and Always curios to what i am doing she will land in mh shoulder while i am doing things in the loft and her head just bobbing anyway at whayni amfoing lol 😂👏🙏🏆🧬😎

That's awesome, they are great birds! I have had some good results from the sire, different hens and both money winners in 2023 and 2024 at New England Derby. I hope your birds breed you winners also.

There is always something to learn when it comes to these pigeons, I’ve been after the speed birds but the the birds that can go the distance are the better birds! Good luck with the races great video!

The birds look good Silvio! I still think 400-mile anniversary race is too much for YBs, but I guess they want the birds to work hard to get the 25 grand reward. Good luck for 2025!

Lawrence, they can do 400. The race yesterday at the Cuevas Classic was 407 miles and there were many day birds that clocked in. And they were this years youngsters too. Time to go breed some all around birds and not just sprinters.. 🙂

You’re always looking to learn and improve and that’s why you’re going to a formidable flyer for years. You’re not set in your ways or too stubborn to change. He is Janssen/Andre Roodhooft. He was my South Section Champion Bird in 2023 OLd Birds while being just a yearling. Looking forward towards this season's OB racing starting in April. He will be racing! Thanks for watching.

I am a race secretary for my club. I will tell you that if guys are not clocking good results the club can hold off on the knockoff time. Giving the birds a chance to clock. They may be doing that on purpose because it cuts flyers out of average speed. You need to make a motion at your next club and combine meeting to make two day races on tough races. Give the birds that much love. 9 birds clocking out of 26 and who knows the combine results. Keep in mind you may not win the race but your bird might be in contention for average speed by qualifying in the race and then starts doing good. If the bird don’t qualify or the flyer don’t qualify he or she is knocked out of any awards.

Yeah, me and a couple of guys already talked about bringing it up, there's enough people not happy to pass a longer window of time to report, so we can enjoy the birds coming and keep more birds in for the average speed like you said. Thanks for your input.

@@matthewkasulke5589 luckily here we don’t have 1800 ypm speeds. We have slower working races. A fast race for us is in the 1400’s and I’d say we have average high 12’s to low 13’s. The wind is never much of an advantage for our course and usually a detriment. We usually have a side wind on race day here. Very rarely do we get west winds. Also lots of fog out in PA in the mornings. This course isn’t for fast birds, it’s for tough and smart birds. IMO

Look at this super pair😂! Awesome job again Silvio! Manny is a champion flyer and has dominated the CJC races for years, and also had some success at OLR races . He has the passion and knowledge to run an OLR in the home of the largest combine in the US, which is long overdue. The loft design is well thought out and also adopted some brilliant ideas from other experienced OLR managers based on their years of running OLR races. Manny, you've made good progress since I was there last time. I'm also exited about this inaugural event in NJ and wish you much success! I'm sure you will do well. If you haven't signed for this OLR, I highly recommend it. Let's have some fun parties in 2025! Good luck everyone!✌

Sounds like a nice operation. Hoping for lots of success. I won’t lie though and pretend I’m not concerned about these birds scooping up our birds on races or training tosses so hopefully we can all avoid each other. Im sure with Manny, being part of the CJC and knowing the schedules there won’t be any issues. Nice video as always Silvio!

I know, but since the OLR is so much more South than most in the CJC I don't see an issue during training. For the races I suppose Manny will coordinate with the Combine accordingly.

@@matthewkasulke5589 very true. Gotta take training into account too. If he’s going to Cadiz Ohio then he’s flying the same race course as us and so training tosses may be from similar release points. No doubt there will be some mixing, just hopefully not a lot to really impact anyone.

Jestem dokładnie,takigo samego zdania.Stosuje red ceel już bardzo długo.Podpatrzyłem go u dr Lamberton na KZbin i nie zamienił bym go na inny Muszę Ci powiedzieć przy okazji, jeżeli chodzi o temat zdrowotny gołębi ,to stosuję środek , Tollisan Donsto oregano flussing12% ,jest bardzo wydajny i wyjatkowy ,wystarcza na 900 litr/wody.Warto sprubować , gołębie tryskają zdrowiem , podaję go 3 razy w tygodniu , 1 raz dziennie, np rano .Wcześniej stosowałem - Kulbacki Milk- też był dobry . Dziękuję za rozmowę i pozdrawiam 🖐️Josef z Polski

In my system I give it once per week mid week. It causes the birds to get thirsty so I give it on a day where the following day they get rest.

@@josef3816 I used to give more times during training and up to mid racing season but I reduced it to once per week towards the end of the season now. I didn't see a difference in giving less.

But I still think it does give the birds a boost of energy and helps them stay healthy, even if I use it once per week, i think is the right amount for the birds. I cut back on many products. Now i mainly use Probiotics and Glucose the day after race for recovery and i continue using Red Cell mid week with mineral powder. I learned that's all the birds need, everything else is a waste of money with no additional benefits for the birds. But ALWAYS the best feed you can find, don't give poor feed to the birds.
