scrap all the heavy stuff off first so your not working the line top hard on thick grass or weeds. also get some good thick wire

Stop trimming from up to down; it creates holes. Trim ONLY from down to up.

@danajhasalvegas5819 it was 2 runs, but we didn't bag it. we just stuffed it all I to the van. Yeah, loads to do. We still need to go and sort the borders when the electricity has been turned off. Back every 3 weeks to keep on top.

Use the edging spade last for the tidy edge finish
@northburncuts2 ай бұрын
@@sjh0010 really?
@sjh00102 ай бұрын
@@northburncuts Yes mate. Wasn't meaning to sound critical, you used it at the start, don't often see ppl edge, got to see. You can do a slight angle cut last to create a narrow dirt border and the grass takes a bit longer before growing back on the path 👍
@sjh00102 ай бұрын
*good to see
@northburncuts2 ай бұрын
@sjh0010 no that's good mate I like being told things to make it better. I'll try that next time.
@northburncuts2 ай бұрын
@sjh0010 yeah that's a good point to edge it a bit more so the grass stays away longer

Just a tip, the correct way to trim and shape a hedge as I was taught is not perpendicular but to taper it upwards, this prevents it going bald an straggly at the bottom and growing outwards at the top.
@northburncuts2 ай бұрын
@gordonlumer2879 I love that you bring tips and I'll be sure to use that in future projects. Thanks for that.
@gordonlumer28792 ай бұрын
Mind you with an overgrown established bush like you had it’s not always possible it needs to be trimmed to the tapering shape from the start so I was not in anyway criticising, it’s more a tip for people who are trimming the same hedge regularly 👍🤓

How short should grass be cut when it's crunchy bc it's 98 degrees outside, it hasn't rained in over 2 months and we can't water our lawns bc of a water restriction?
