I’m confused…. Let’s say this test sample is 4” dia which is 12.56 sq.in. in cross section area. So if the sample is assumed to be at 2,000 psi state, shouldn’t the sample support 25,000 lbs?

You’re a legend. I’m sure there are a million other types of bricks beyond just these, too. But it is a great start. I learned several things. Thank you!

When your power goes out during a major storm event your basement is destroyed. I am trying to figure out how to fix this problem without relying on power. Gravity only.

I had in mind to get a water pump to stop the water coming into my basement. I googled to see if anyone had done before to give me ideas and your video popped up. Someone who knows construction and also think too. 👍🏻 It’s amazed me how many construction guys come to my place and are clueless. They cannot follow my ideas, and I am not even in the construction field. 🧐

Hi I"m Tony from Windsor, Ontario Canada. Does your company still produce the thinner "pinehall"? brick you described in the video in a dark burgundy/brown colour? I need about 60-70 of them. The dimensions would be 1 1/2" X 4" X 8". They just do not make them in Canada anymore.

Great video. I will say this: the terminology used in gravel and earth materials in general can be utterly confusing...even to a professional. “DOT-this” versus “ASTM-that”, “river run”, “crusher run”, “sharp”, “clean”, “processed”, “well graded”, “fine graded”, and on and on. Then try having a conversation with a hardscape mason who prefers one set of terms and reconciling this with what your civil engineer brother-in-law is trying to explain to you and your head will be spinning in no-time. Spot-on about stone dust...something I still see on some landscape architect drawings instead of concrete sand. Worth mentioning the key issues for most selections. Stability, erosion resistance and drainage.

As a plumber, this was hard to watch. This guy doesn’t understand the shower system. Taking 3/4 to the shower is good, but the benefits end there with the amount of fixtures you have in this shower system. The only way you’ll get decent pressure to those body sprays is if you is 3/4 volume diverted and feed the 3/4 to the first tee in the loop. Without that feature, you might as well not put any of this shower together. Not good man... also is this Shaw’s shower? Cuz the body sprays aren’t roughed at proper heights.

I am an IT guy, but an armchair Google expert :) so take this with a grain of salt. Would a backup like a pit with gravel in case of a power or equipment failure have worked here? Maybe go down a few feet and fill with gravel to absorb water and allow it to drain out into the soil just in case something fails? power etc? or even if the pump is not keeping up.

I have a walkout just like the one in this video. I would say what you describe (which trust me I have thought about incorporating in my walkout) would be a bandaid method. In other words it would work in light or moderate rains, but in those "every 50 year floods" it would be almost useless.

Over time, does thermal PA Flagstone gets dirty like natural cleft PA Flagstone?
@Verdant02
@Verdant02 3 жыл бұрын
Thermal flagstone won't accumulate as much dirt, or as quickly, as natural cleft stone because there are less ridges and valles to catch dirt.
