Thank you so much for posting the video. I was dance director for Wimborne this year, and I missed half the festival because I caught norovirus from my granddaughter and spent the whole of the Sunday flat on my back in bed! It's good to see some of the festival I missed.

Some groups pulled out because of the events in Manchester which happened just a few days before. So it was even smaller than usual.

I think 2017 was a good year for Luton carnival. Nice weather, great costumes. Lots of creative concepts. The reason why the route doesn't go through town any more is because of budget cuts. Costs too much to shut off the roads in town.

6 hours later, my legs are still aching and my stomach still goes over at the memories 😂

This year was absolutely crap.

This looks lame, badly stewarded and badly policed, poor security, wrongly routed through a residential area, gangs of youths hanging around, not impressed. It's supposed to bring people together, but they all hate each other in reality. A waste of time and money. Wanna see a real carnival? Go to Brazil or even Nottinghill. Luton is a working town, not a party or even a sexy town, why the hell does it have a sex shop. Having a carnival there is like Prince Philip twerking, the two things don't go together. Fun and Luton don't mix.

Great video Steve. I'm guessing for the first bit of footage you were out on a boat. I filmed a bit myself but there wasn't anything going on when I was recording.
