WTH WHAT WHAT WHAT THIS IS SO GOOD HOW highlights: 0:04 THE STAR EYES 0:04-0:05 the lipsync and the way peril looks up is just so precious omg 0:06 THE WAITER'S SMILE AAAAAAA <3 0:07 turtle's surprised face 0:00-0:39 the artstyle I love it sm - and the animation is so smooth and the little details (like the other customer you see vibing in the background in peril's scene and the top of someone's head in turtle's and the posters/artwork on the walls) and HAVE I MENTIONED THE LIPSYNC IS SO GOOD and WHY is it so SATISFYING that the "much" in Peril's "thank you very much" ends with a smile??? I can't stop watching it PLEASE I BEG OF YOU MAKE MORE (no pressure tho lol)

OMG THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!!! Lipsyncs and strong expressions are some of my favorite parts of animating so I'm happy they look good! I do hope to make more dw :D I love doing MAP parts, probably more than I like doing animation memes lol

WOW! This is of the coolest WoF things ive seen in a while! The movement, the tension, and i love how much attention to detail there is, like i never see anyone show Splash as one of Albatross' victims! And your anatomy is stunning too! All around fantastic

This is incredibly done one of the best sketch animations I have seen! The angles expressions and attention to detail make this truly a masterpiece! The way it perfectly captures the moments as described in the books make me feel like I’m really there in the pages of the book instead of watching an animation! Love love LOVE this (if you want) keep up the good work! (but no pressure 😉) ❤

I'm so glad to hear that it took you back to the book! That was my main goal :0 I wanted to be faithful to the book and show the events the way they unfolded from Fathom's perspective rather than Albatross's. Happy to hear it was successful, thank you so much!

I prefer this kind of Fathom animatic than the ones where it focuses on Albatross killing everyone. Fathom was only present when he killed Lagoon, the skywings and maybe Splash but he didn't see more than that. I love how you really communicate that panic of the moment here. The envoirements are amazing too, i just love when locations in the books i read get illustrated, even more so than the charachters!

Thank you, I was surprised when I never saw any animatics or AMVs that depict the massacre in a similar way to how I did, and I was especially surprised when I saw that no one put any focus on the moment with Fathom and Indigo at the end! This isn't to say any of them are bad, cause they're great, I wanted to be a bit more faithful to the book itself and really show the emotions that Fathom felt, because in the end it is Fathom's story and not Albatross's. Thank you about the environments too! I wish I had put more time into the backgrounds (they show up in some shots but completely disappear in others), but those I did do I tried to put care into. I plan to pay more attention to the environments in the future!

As someone who studies similar real-life situations, the way you captured how FAST everything happens is incredible. It feels like forever, and then you realize it was only five minutes. The timing here is really incredible.

I actually hadn't thought too much about the pacing funnily enough, I just tried to make the scenes match the progression of the music haha It was a lot to pack into 5 minutes but I'm happy to see that it was done well! Everything really does happen fast, even in the books, but so much happens that it feels like it becomes independent of time in a way. Thank you very much for this comment, I appreciate it :D ❤️❤️

I just finished Legends - Darkstalker and Fathom quickly became one of my favorite characters of the series. Seeing him go from a kind dragonet to a traumatized one, then beating his own fears for a greater cause was very cool. I'm happy he had a happy ending with Indigo (nearly cried on her "death scene").

Genuinely couldn’t have chosen a better song for this animatic. It’s the perfect blend of intense and tragic, much like the story. I’d love to see this turned into a full animation one day, but even if it isn’t I’ll still be admiring this animatic. Great job!

OH MY GOD YES!! YES YES YES JUST YES!!!! I LOVE THE FAMILY CREST!!! Im all for how you represented the seawing massacre. Albatross never went “insane” he was just really pissed off and fed up with life. He felt like nothing mote than an object to lagoon and the rest of the seawings, and when fathom came along, he knew he was now insignificant, with a younger, more presentable replacement. Lagoon even justified this. So he just decided “nah fuk this sht” and tried to kill them all. Done being used as a tool, and treated insignificantly. I feel that he may have had the chance to be reformed if he was given it. He wasn’t totally beyond repair. He wasn’t insane. Animus magic doesn’t do that. What makes an animus seem insane is the fact that they make bad choices. Albatross didn’t really do that. He was just a really pissy grandpa. (Actually i think he’s fathom’s uncle?? I don’t remember smh) But overall, i LOVE your art so much. Also i got recommended to you by irl SmazaJack, and good god she was not lying about you being flip flopping awesome. Anyways, you’re on my artfight hitlist **giggles in team stardust**

I actually did head a bit for the insane route during the massacre, but still tried to humanize him when I could to account for not showing the story he tells to Fathom. And I did also emphasize the growing resentment from being considered replaceable. To me the whole thing was more anger with a hint of madness. I do think he could have gone down a different path if given the chance, but tragedies be tragedies :( And thank you so much!! I got jumpscared when Smaza was mentioned (/pos) but I'm flattered she did recommend me. I have been given your Art Fight so you're on my hitlist as well :))

This is absolutely gorgeous, i have literal chills on my body. I am not sure if you ever will turn it into a full AMV in the future but if you do i definitelly need to see it.
