Worse, it means you can't even predict outcomes with just basic statistics... like sales in a scalable market with pareto curves. If someone says they can predict outcomes in scalable markets, run. They're basically saying they can predict the stock market. They're a liar. Those who hit it big are very rare, and (again, as a result), unpredictable. Play by heuristics and prepare for all scenarios.

This was a very informative interview to hear how someone else is actually using AI live. I'm using ChatGPT4 and have used it for analyzing my breeder production line and helping me to better understand the breeding cycle and how rotating 50 pair of stock in and out throughout a 12 month period including new pair ramp up time to produce their first egg in the nest impacts my bottom line. So true. This is evolution in practice, small changes that add up to new organizing principles underlying economic activity, culture, and so forth. The Renaissance came out of the collapse of the Roman Empire. One of my favorite books is How the Irish Saved Civilization by historian Thomas Cahill. It all started with a Roman slave/shepherd who decided to the Roman collapse. He walked across what we know as France, having dreamed of a ship and found the ocean he had never seen. We know him as Saint Patrick. He created the operation of monks that copied Roman books, saving Latin, and producing a distinctive Irish culture. Whereas the old ruler, Charlemagne, the last Roman Emperor, remained illiterate -- he couldn't figure out what a letter was, let alone a word. It's the same shift as Perry describes, conceptually different from the past. Bemoaning what is being destroyed goes nowhere, but actively creating a fresh perspective on what in fact continues, getting below the surface, is the ticket to ride. Intuitive flashes of analagous situations, dreams, etc. all play a major role in finding the next move. Brilliant stuff! And said by someone at retirement age who is shaping a new business with clarity and confidence. Thanks, Perry!
