8lb trigger in a 7lb gun. That’s never a good combo.

I was a dope and bought a Remlin, which is what they call Marlins made by Remington. It has a generic scope on it, and it works adequately, but you get you pay for. It was cheaper than my 9mm handgun which should have been a red flag when you get so much for so little. I want a better quality one in 44MAG or 45 Colt from Henry or Marlin/Rugar with side loading and not tube loading.

Nice review of a great gun, seriously considering one as my new walking-about gun, super light and flawless ergonomics. Gunstocks have evolved over hundreds of years, that one is just about perfect. On the studs issue, I hope they don't fit any to the forearm. I don't use one and if I've paid a fair whack for some nice timber I don't want a hole in it that I don't need. What they could do is include a couple of studs, a drill bit and a paper drilling template so you can safely fit one yourself, or offer an aftermarket kit as an add-on. It wouldn't cost twenty bucks.

Completely agree that the DRS Classic is an excellent option for any hunting where you're covering miles. And yea the ergos are spot on. It's like an extension of your body. That odd thing about the sling studs was putting just one on the gun. Give me enough to mount a sling or none at all. One struck me as a strange choice.
@davidpaylor56663 сағат бұрын
@@outdoorlife I agree that fitting one stud is a bit odd. They could at least have included a strap for the fore-end, or included two unfitted studs.

I had issues with the Chisel Folding stock. It folds while shooting heavy loads. Note: They have a disclaimer about the issue on Chisel’s website. They recommend upgrading the Midwest closing mechanism to an Sig mechanism. Recommend paying for the upgraded Sig folding mechanism or replacing the Midwest folding mechanism with a non-folding Midwest Step Mechanism.

Man, I kick myself in the a$$, when I was much younger, I sold my Marlin Firearms 336 to a friend of mine and regret that now. I paid just a little over $100 for it brand new back around 1980. Can't believe how much they've gone up.

I think if you catch a fish in the wild you can submit it for a record which is valued by weight and length, sometimes how wide the mouth is too, for different species of fish. However to be an official record you obviously need a way of that being authenticated by a qualified agent. So going by the caption after catching the fish they weighed it themselves and it was a staggering number that “unofficially” broke the record. They must have released back into the water before getting it professionally authenticated.
@joshw.27392 сағат бұрын
To add to the other comment. If they didnt release it quickly and waited for a qualified person to measure it for a record theres a decent chance the fish dies from stress or water chemistry even with those water tanks. Its rarer today but certain states also require the fish to be dead to certify records (presumably so the fish doesnt squirm)

Great review! Just one observation, you need to measure your groups from center-to-center, not edge-to-edge. Makes this piece of work even more impressive!!
@outdoorlife2 күн бұрын
Yes I should have mentioned that I zero the calipers to the diameter of the projectile and then measure edge to edge. The result is a center to center measurement.

okay rescue randy, calm down. there’s a whole lot more to this procedure than just slice and stick a tube in. this is one of those procedures that most medical professionals think about but may only do a handful of times. hope anyone watching this understands that this is a procedure to be respected and not to watch a 1min video on YT and feel comfortable with the idea of this type of crash procedure

Can you easily adjust the regulator and hammer spring tension? I'd get one in .177 and tune it down to 15 fpe or so for a nice yard plinker.
@outdoorlife2 күн бұрын
Very easy. You just have to remove the action screw and pull it out of the stock to access the adjustment screw.

Hello My friend, First of all, I thought you gave a great review of this air rifle. It was bright, upbeat, and full of positive information. From watching your review, to me this looks a great air rifle. I've always preferred the traditional air rifle look, compared to tactical, etc. This air rifle is very neat looking, and its accuracy was very impressive. This idea of the air cylinder surrounding the barrel, Ive thought about myself, and wondered if it was possible and would ever come about? Well it looks like FX have made a great job out of this idea. I think anyone contemplating buying this air rifle, based on what I've seen here wouldn't be disappointed. I think its shot count may leg it up a little, but it looks fine and well made. Thank you and congratulations on a great review.

WOW 58 shots with such a tiny air reservoir?? Damn I was expecting like 15-20 shots MAX. Which would still be ok for a hunting rifle. How the hell did they do that.

Why only discuss release?? That is not when people injure their shoulders. It is when they draw. Modern archery form is wrong. Old English longbow men twisted their upper body to the left.
