Apparently, Peter Sellers was originally set to play this part. Either for schedule conflicts and/or Sellers being Sellers, he turned it down. Thank god, I am not sure how he would do this scene, but he wouldn’t be nearly as good as Preston here.

Robert Preston was nominated for the Oscar for a supporting role in Victor Victoria but he didn't win. It's a shame!! He was absolutely amazing and so funny in every scene. He should have won because he was the best!

Laura Brannigan was a big favorite of mine still listen to her hit songs even now in 2023. I was never so stunned to learn of her sudden passing from an aneurysm. So young too.
