About that thing about not knowing anything, in the end? I'm 25 and I feel like I used to talk like I knew everything as well, and for a few years now I've gotten so bad at talking about anything at all because the main thought I have about it is "but how could I know?" And so I've turned bad at reassuring people and comforting them because all I'm thinking is, "I'll say the wrong thing" It's nice to know that we can always learn, not as nice to turn so doubtful about everything that I can't even connect with people :')

Oh my gosh that moment of your birthday is so real. Just assuming people don't care - BUT THEY DO! It was so heartwarming. It shows that there is so much more love for us, even if we don't realise it

if you're ever in Madison WI (please come to Madison someday, it's got a great music scene and all the lil gay college students and cool queer artists in town would die to see you live) there's a great thrift called Upshift that's across the road from another amazing vintage shop called uhhh. Good Style I think?? another bonus is that it's near a really neat local luthier/guitar/string shop I have my cello repaired at and my pals got a dulcimer and a mandolin from. anyways your style inspires me to wear long skirts more casually since they're so comfortable, to embrace knitwear, and to be sustainable. I hope hope hope I can see you play live someday!

Amazing video ! I hope you know how much of a supportive presence you are to so many people, even if you don't know them... I mean that in a "thank you for who you are, because you're precious" way and not in a pressuring "keep making videos please!!" way, i know it's not that easy and a video occasionnally is already a beautiful gift ! :) I just litterally grew up watching your videos during my teenage years, now i can't believe i'm a 23 yo young adult and i still get to follow you, with all the ups and downs of life. Thank you for your content, and i hope you're feeling okay.

I turned thrifting clothes into a hobby about 2 years ago. Walking around a shop once/twice a month, no pressure to buy anything. In my experience working through all the racks is as easy as scrolling, only screenless and grounded and out of the house, so a great replacement. Never knew anything about fashion, but I learned a lot about fabrics, necklines and colours :) I've visited many stores in the Netherlands, but Warenhuis in Leiden still has my heart❤

Hey Dodie, I appologise if I’m over- sharing but I suffer from chronic dissociation and have for nearly 10 years now. The video you posted really helped me get to grips with it. However, I’m still consistently being ignored by doctors and I don’t think they quite understand the depth or that it is ALL the time. I’m sorry if reminding you of it makes you feel it a bit more for the moment (I’ve been there) but I’d really love to know if you’ve taken steps to help it and what you did??

Love this!!!!! My favorite second hand shop in Utah is called PreLoved. It's a thrift store where you can rent a booth for a week and sell you clothes to make some money, as well as buy from the other people selling! It rotates every week so there's always new items. It's so cool!

I recently discovered this teeny tiny vintage shop in my hometown of ✨Vienna, Austria✨, so this is gonna be a very niche comment lol But it's called The Holy Garbage and you can really tell that the owner selects the items with so much love and care. Plus, the shop shares a space with a coffee shop + book store, so after you're done looking around you can get yourself a little coffee <3 I'm a big fan. And also can we please normalize giving clothes to friends? Anything that doesn't fit me anymore I offer to my buddies. I hate letting go of pieces that I love but it makes me so happy to see them live on with someone else <3

Ok this is a long shot but in Brisbane, Aus there's an op dhop called Bloom that are the selling portion of a textiles recycling company and they have bins of stuff that you can go through for $5 a kilo which is crazy. They do also have a sort of boutique section that has racks like a traditional op shop but I love the bins! You can find some cool stuff in there (they always go through donations to make sure there's nothing nasty in it before the items get put in the rummage area)

When I watched this for the first time, I was 13, and the most hopeless and disillusioned I’ve been in my life. I used to watch this before bed every night for a year or so because it made me feel something I’d never felt before. It felt like this warm embrace from found family, like a swell of unconditional love and id never felt that before. It gave me hope that there WAS something for me after my dreadful teens. That there is a light on the other side. I’m 20 now. I’m still working on finding found family, but my social skills have been extremely stunted due to my chronically online childhood. Nonetheless, I’m always working to better myself and feel a lil bit happier every day. Thanks for showing my a light I’d never seen <333
