FIXED!!!! I’ve had this problem since the day I bought my apu. When it’s hot outside my hvac breaker trips when I try to run the ac. I just changed the power capacitor in the apu housing. it’s down on the bottom next to the oil pan and filter. It’s a silver cylinder with 2 wires. It cost just over $100 for the part. My ac is working better than ever on a hot day. I hope this helps some of you out. This has been a nightmare.

Check the 20AMP inline fuse. Open the top part of carrier APU. (Make sure it’s off) so your fingers don’t get chopped off. The inline fuse is above the computer control box (top left) . It’s a larger 20AMP fuse. That would be your first problem signaling that you need a new alternator. Eventually you go to the bottom and hit that red button: ( wrong ) First step check voltage while it’s running find out if proper voltage is coming from alternator (14.1 V) If alternator is ok replace the fuse then hit the red reset button, as shown in video. Also the green lot he’s showing on bottom is not with all trucks that’s just specifically the trucking company he’s working with design: most have a standard control unit APU in the bottom of bunk,

I had the yellow triangle and then run for 20 minutes or so. Then red triangle ut would turn off. I'd restart the APU and it would run for about 20 minutes and shut off. I was told by a thermo king dealer that i needed a new a/c compressor. Or freon is low. I let it go for some time. A friend of mine worked for that thermo king. And quit. I asked him what's the deal. He said 90% of the time, it's a ground or loose connection issue. I spent couple hours taking connectors apart, cleaning them, and reconnecting. After all connection cleaning, alternator connections, and major ground to frame, it fires up and works just fine

Got my apu serviced because my dispatcher told me to. Now I keep getting that same warning. Went home for the 4th of July and came back to my truck saying load shed. It's literally 100+ degrees in the truck everywhere I go and my company has the engine shut down on something pass 120°F because it still shuts off when it's reading that high

Most likely u fried your ccu board its under the bunk by the evaporator. I had that happen to my old carrier apu. Carriers are money pits.
@MrChbnovemberАй бұрын
The carrier APU and the CCU board has nothing to do with the HVAC setup. The HVAC CCU board almost never fails. It’s just alternator driven and connected to the truck’s battery system. The problem is usually the alternator system and belts: nobody does the maintenance that’s the problem, it’s simple

It depends. On all of these APU's there is a password setting for operating the system for total control adjustment. On freightliners the shop I.T./Mechnaic has the password set by the company that they do not give out for total menu control by the drivers. I just called my dispatcher about this same issue you are having here and this senior dispatcher let it out that the shop can control the total/overall menu settings for full operation. ALL of these Carrier Units do it religiously. Not bad for 15,000 bucks on a 145,000 dollar truck. My 4-bdrm house has a 4-ton air handler unit and every room every bathroom Florida room huge open living room...and was under 10,000 for the entire 4-ton unit. No problems. Not one month into this truck (brand new, less than 240 miles) and all equipment brand new...I have the exact same circuit breaker issue and reset issue. Not bad at all. Can't wait for more forward thinking closet meme's try to conquer the world with no answers, anywhere, for the product they build. Not bad at all for 15,000 bucks.

I appreciate this video man just unfortunately doesn't seem to be my problem. After watching this checked my fuses and all seem fine. Problem persists. Edit: After reading through the comments I checked the main fan outside, and yeah that baby doesn't move a muscle. So guess its something fan related but not the fuse... I'm just a dumb company driver but either way out here melting in GA/TN last 4 days so was hoping to find/fix the problem myself.

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC has agreed to recall 218,147 model-year 2017-2023 trucks due to chemical corrosion potentially impacting brake-module operation during the use of adaptive cruise control. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-817, “On certain vehicles, chemical corrosion could affect the functionality of the brake-modulator valve, which during an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) braking event may result in full system pressure applied to one front wheel end causing brake pull from differential in brake force. Regular service brakes are unaffected.”

Seems like they designed something that should have been simple into something difficult. You would think the heat would be for the heater and the cold cold but nope. They even made a knob for the fan and then to confuse you put one on the other side

Any drivers having a problem with this, check to see if anything is blocking the air intake for the bunk heater. The air intake is inside the side box on the same side that the APU unit is on your truck.

My mechanic explained to me that on the Freightliner’s it happens a lot especially in the cold weather bc of where it’s located. He also said that if anything snags the wire it could pull the pins a lil and it will trigger the code. Cost me less than $100 from the dealer.
