I am using S8 tab for office purposes and reading as well as note taking. What I see is the Spen nib gets worn out too quickly. How it compares with Mi, Apple and OP? Feel free to drop ur suggestions.

I conveniently haven’t updated my iPad since 2018 and a first Apple Pencil, it also has cracked glass. In the end of last year I almost bought Air 5, but counted updates timings and considered it’s better to wait till the new version - and here it is, the one I’ll buy 🎉

Looks like with the newest firmware and ipad update any button can be mapped to anything! Dial works clockwise and counterclockwise too

Nice. Excellent video. I think the problem is with the program not the phone. I'm waiting for the delivery of my S24 and I'm looking at Infinite Painter, Krita and Ibis Paint. There's lots of programs for it and with your talent I think you'll get a lot of pleasure out of them. Ibis Paint X is capable of producing pictures that look like rich oil paintings. I like the smooth airbrush style of Krita too. Concepts is a program that produces vector based output. But Ibis has layering and blending and records your drawing process. By the way you should take up drawing full comic strips. You've got a good basic style for that. Think up some good stories and illustrate them and you might have something you can sell on the internet. $.25 sounds like nothing but there's a 14 year old girl that wrote romantic stories and sold them for $.25. She usually sells them to 400,000 girls around the world.🤟

Love all the handwriting/notetaking comparisons on your channel for various displays and pens! Rather than a portable computer for taking notes (like what is featured here), I actually need a large format blackboard replacement for teaching math/CS online. I was looking at various 24 inch pen displays, but naturally reviews of such products focus on their usefulness for digital art. I would probably write on it for 3+ hours a day and would love to keep the feeling of working on paper (not a fan of the writing on glass feeling). I'm currently leaning towards the QHD Huion Kamvas 24 but, given all of your experience, I'm curious if you think there are better options. Would 4k have any value here? Would something like the Xencelabs 24 actually offer any meaningful improvement for my application? Are their even cheaper large format matte screen options that I should be considering for this purpose? Thanks very much for the great videos and any insight you can provide =)

Hi, latency for pen displays is more noticeable compared to the better tablets, eg iPad Pro, Samsung. The short answer is pen displays aren't designed for writing even though you can write on them. The long answer is this... The good pen displays typically has latency around 15ms. That Huion Kamvas 24 has 14ms response time. There is no mention of the response time for Xencelabs. For comparison purposes, the Samsung S Pen on their best tablet, with the appropriate apps, has a latency of 2.8ms. But with most apps pen latency is 9ms. Apple Pencil has similar performance. The difference between 9ms vs 14ms is you will see less gap as the line is catching up with the pen tip. When writing, people write fast, so latency is important, and the difference with 9ms vs 14ms is noticeable. When drawing, latency is less important relatively speaking because drawing is a slower process than writing. I have reviewed many pen displays and I have not seen on that has latency or response time less than 10ms yet.

I do not think the nano texture feature gonna age or review well. I personally just use Gorilla Glass to protect my device screens. Yeah I am waiting to see the reviews from other artist and then make a decision on a new M4 or get a M2 IPad Pro.

I don’t review e-reader that often so I am not really knowledgeable about the different models. To me the most important feature is how responsive the e-reader is. You can see My Deep Guide YT channel where he reviews many ereaders

Why is the "screen off" battery endurance time estimate shorter than the "screen on" estimate? Doesn't it take more energy to run the display than to not run the display?

My battery test involve leaving the screen on at max brightness. The screen-off time was when I forgot to leave the screen on during the test

No because there's no driver, so you can't customise the shortcuts, and some apps don't support keyboard shortcuts.

@@vanessawertheim I usually recommend backups with Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, but those are monthly subscription of course. The nice thing about Microsoft OneDrive is it is 1TB online storage so it can be used backup your computer too. Or you can go the more affordable way with an external storage, get SSD because normal hard drive can be easily damaged by drops and magnets.

nice work as always :) ive never really enjoyed sketching on iPads but the new one does seem tempting - my iPad Air, Pro and Mini were all acquired for the intention of daily sketcing but i just keep going back to my real sketchbooks and fountain pens! i have been using the remarkable 2 lateley and really love the feel and texture of the surface but its a bit laggy compared to the apple pencils. Will be spending a few hours in the apple store testing the new ones to see if theyre any good over the next few weeks. Looking forward to your full review of the m4 version :)

I prefer traditional media too because it's just more fun. I use tablet when I have to stand and sketch, where watercolour has difficulty drying, or when I just don't have time to clean up and pack up.
