Reminds me of the truck I learned in, a Seddon Atkinson with 36 speed split box like that one. Only use the clutch to pull off and stop. Exhaust braking and turbo whistle for days. All the right noises for me haha.
@cjeverydaylifeКүн бұрын
Now that's a classic truck right there we have tons of them in Jamaica where I grew up and learn to drive the seddon atkinson with a 350 cummings and a 13 speed ⚙️ was my dad's second truck and that's what I learn to drive on cheers

Good job keeping the motor revved low that’s proper way like that other guy said and it prolongs the CAT miles you’ll get out of it. Ah they last regardless sweet old W900 too I got 3 2 are 2007 ones a ‘96 which I may configure into a daycab tractor rig. It’s another dump truck now. The motor I pulled out of it and rebuilt. 3406B CAT 425

You do drive it pretty well sound reminds me of my T800 and a T800 which also has a 475 Acert motor in it which is at my first job. Nice Clanky idle to em good torque for 475 horse

Lol You mean driving the motor how it should be driven. Or shall I say shifting it correctly. That is shifting the RPMs low. The CATs with a 18 speed behind them usually like being shifted low RPM. Not dogging the motor or making it scream. Only using power when necessary there’s no need to cowboy shift it. I know my way around many transmissions and different motors. CATs are torque monsters made for hauling big weight. That’s why so many construction companies/ heavy hauling companies still own and run older rigs with CATERPILLAR POWER 💪🏼💪🏼 under the hood

Really? A GPS to tell you what lane to take? 1974 I was 23 years old hauling million dollar loads of IBM cross country.....no internet, no cellphones, no GPS...our only electronic was the CB. Somehow, in 35 years we never missed a pickup or delivery. We had brains and common sense. This crap nowadays makes me laugh. Glad I trucked back in the day.

@@cjeverydaylife Don't hear that guy, although he might have experience, his narrow-minded mentality doesn't let him be constructive in his arguments. If you feel that you need a GPS, then go for it, if it helps you meet the deadlines, then go for it. Use whatever may aid you.

Been seeing a lot of love for the N14 lately, but I just don't feel it. Doesn't have near the same growl that the old mechanical CAT's do. 3406 gang for life lol. Still love my 12 valve Cummins Dodge though. One of the best pickups ever made IMO.

I definitely agree on the 12 valve but on the n14 I have own one before didn't have any issues other ecm going out so that's why came back to the old mechanical
