@dovid985 Good to see you yesterday. Those are rapid laps! I think you said you were doing 55s (possibly dipping into 54s?). It'll be interesting to see how you go if you get slicks for the next (dry) track day. As an aside, I thought it was funny how you were (jokingly) told off for standing in front of John McPhee during the briefing. 🤣
@dovid9853 ай бұрын
Yes great to see you again! And yes I dipped into the 54s with a 54.7. Was mega happy with that as it’s only my 5th time on track. It looked like you were picking the pace up as well? Haha you know what I didn’t actually know John McPhee was there. I actually thought the boy I stood in front of looked like Lee Johnston 🙈 It wasn’t until I got home a friend said John M was at Knockhill for the day😂
@jackbertie86863 ай бұрын
@dovid985 Brilliant! 🤣 That could have been a king sized foot-in-mouth moment - "Sorry Lee, I'll get out your way" "I'm John Mcphee!" "Er, I have speech impediment that makes pronouncing 'Mcph' sound like an 'L....'" 54.7 is more than dipping into the 54s, it's a deep incursion!

You're really hauling between Clarks and the Hairpin (and everywhere else)!!! Quick bike and great riding 👍

Thanks very much 😊 that was my third ever track session and first time using that bike 🙈 managed a 56.7 so was happy with that. Desperate to go back now it’s so addictive 😂

@dovid985 That's a great lap time. Especially first time on track with that bike (2024 Blade?). I'm about 4 seconds slower - my bikes old (16yrs), I'm pretty old (no comment) and I'm afraid of crashing so happier watching others try that kind of pace. I'm also looking forward to the next Knockers outing. If it happens to be the same day as you go I shall enjoy watching as you pass and seeing your rear tyre being tortured out of Clarks 😁

@@jackbertie8686 haha age is just a number 😛 I think running and older bike on track is definitely more sensible👍 My bikes a 2017 Blade SP. I was absolutely over the moon with it. It’s a very pointy bike and holds the corners really well. Down on power to my road bike but it’s not really noticeable on track. I done two track days at the end of last year on my Panagale V4s and felt myself pushing a bit so before I put that down the road I thought I’d treat myself to a decent track bike for this year. When are you next on track? I’m going to try and book one a month as long as the weather plays ball 🙄
@jackbertie86866 ай бұрын
@dovid985 - even better riding and lap time given it's a 2017 Blade! 👏 I'm pondering going on Monday 3rd June. Accuweather forecasts rain but the BBC reckons it'll be OK (dry). There're still 17 spaces in Intermediate so I think I'll hold out a couple of days and see if Accuweather's forecast improves. 🤞

Thanks bud! Yeah she goes well😂 can wait to go back so i can push a little harder. I dont even think i was full throttle on the main straight half the time. Did you manage to take any photos of me? I'd love to see them if you did 😊

@@dovid985 iv booked for the 18th September! Got the bug after seeing everyone racing around. That's crazy it wasn't full throttle!!
@dovid985 Жыл бұрын
@@2wheelzlife you'll enjoy it, i cant stop thinking about it 🙈 Aye the v4 is very torquey and main straight is surprisingly uneven, even just after the hairpin the front would just pop up so had to take it easy on the throttle and short shift to try keep the front end coming up.

Cool that will be my first mod but just got to find a type r now. Is there anything i should look out for engine wise before buying a type r
@dovid98510 жыл бұрын
Nice one mate,just the usual try and get one with a full service history apart from that they are pritty good engines
@PandorusFightStick10 жыл бұрын
Yeah cool. Was it expensive? I have been told that its not a good idea to have the group n map on the car too long and to get it custom tuned. If you get it custom tuned can that map be saved and reload the stand map back on if required
@dovid98510 жыл бұрын
Group n map is safe mate only thing thats dif to stock is rev limit up to 8600 and vtec down to 3800 and a few changes to cam angles to allow for vtec crossover change but all fueling is the same.There are two ways of getting a tune and they are either an etune by vtiviper where you send datalogs to him and he sends back new ones until you are both happy(meant to take up to 20-30 logs) it cost around£100 but supposed to be realy good!!! or a rr tune which cost around £300 the up side to that is you get it done on the day and see your actual bhp(this is what i am going to do) yeh the map will be saved so you can take it off and put it to stock if you want.

@dovid98510 жыл бұрын
Yeah it does make difference in mid range due to the vtec crossover being lower than stock.You can download the group n map to the car from the flashpro and vtec is set to 3800,so its alot more power lower in the revs. Flashpro is better with a custom tune though so if you do have cat back and intake I think there's a few people who have had 220 or there abouts mate. Yeah get rid of your 1.8t mate and get a type R - they are great cars.
@PandorusFightStick10 жыл бұрын
Does the flashpro change how the car drives now. I have heard that with flashpro,cat back and intake you can get 220bhp but better mid range. Im in the process of buying an fn2 got 1.8t remapped but type r is so much fun.
