@@UKMitchy The camera is better than the Neo. I am very tempted to get the Flip. I just don't know if it can take the hammering I will probably give it. I'd defo need the care package!

@@MadDogsandEnglishman I crashed it a few times today. It just got up and ran fine after. Nothing serious as they were soft landings from a just a few feet up. It also recovered from a few clips with branches. With the flying you do I reckon the Flip would be ok. It's not as if you are flying fast, just more prone to hitting things. I learnt a lot today just flying it. It does take a while to use just the screen.

Thanks. Don't often see them there this time of year. The Flip was just able to keep up with them. It was only doing about 8 or 9 kmh. I think it's slower flying sideways, but have not tested that.

Oh they are definitely worth the money. I did speed test them and didn't find any real performance boost. They are about the same as the Dji ones. No slower thankfully.

@@UKMitchy I thought as much myself, I did think we'd get a little more out of it, but at least it's no slower. It's a great little drone. I am thinking of getting the flip, just to see if there's much difference in video quality. I think there is by the reviews I've watched.

It's a great improvement in sound. The Flip has great video and photo quality. Have you watched the water skiing video? I was very impressed with the quality then. The Flip did ok in the woods. I am working on the video and should be out sometime this week s it's a bit long. Trying to shorten it.

It didn't have any damage to the propellers afterwards. It might have just sucked a leaf in and chopped it up. I was impressed how it recovered before it hit the ground in the first clip.

I did turn the sensor setting from 'Brake' to 'Off' on the controller. It still flashes red on the screen, but the drone doesn't stop, it does stop the annoying beeping though. I'm not to sure about the Flip in forests yet. I need to spend more time flying it that way before deciding.

@ If you do, then don't blame me lol. I do think the Flip has to be seen as a bit different to the Neo and also the Mini drones in some ways. I'm impressed with the battery life. The camera is the best of my drones. It's as easy to fly and use as the Neo. I need more time with it to use it properly.

@@MadDogsandEnglishman Difficult to say whether it would take a hard impact. The arms fold downwards so would be pushed back an possibly break or damage the chassis. I have damaged my Mini 2 chassis and that was from a fall, but it did hit a hard stone. ( I bodge repaired it and it still flies). I will have a closer look at the construction of the Flip. I do think the obstacle avoidance would prevent it from hitting anything any way. I'm not sure how quick the avoidance works if flying fast though. I might be out with it tomorrow as it's going to be dry here.

I will but not sure when. Hopefully this week once I have car MOT'd

I managed to find some time today. Got 1 kilometre with no signal problems. More than enough for me lol.

Hi Thanks. The location is Plymouth. I don't think I will try FPV anyway. Too much technology for my old brain lol. I think the Flip actually sounds quieter when flying fast. It was the Neo that got me. Even at a distance it's still audible lol. The woods I go to are just on the horizon the other side of the river with a mast sticking up over the trees. They are visible about 4:10 minutes. I'm still learning the editing. Getting better, but more practice and watching how to videos.

Oh By the way I used Power Director 365 to edit and it has an AI music option, but it does require credit to use. I will carry on until my credits run out lol. Then

@@UKMitchy Hi, Mitchy. I wasn't sure where this was, it looks lovely though. I too am not that inspired about FPV, I think I will give it a miss. I don't like the way it banks and tilts, most of us older viewers are not into blasting a drone around, I like to take my time and cruise through a wood/forest. I will leave the FPV stuff to the young'uns, I'm past all that and just like to actually see the beauty of the wilderness and all it has to offer. Good vid this one, bro. I have thought the Flip might replace the Mini 2 I have. Not sure yet as want to compare them side to side. Flip will not replace the Neo though.

Thanks. I go there quite regularly. As it's on top of a ridge there are good views all directions. In the spring it's full of wild garlic and bluebells. I am looking for other woods to fly in, but not having much success.

Thanks you. It was quite a walk out from near the Warren Inn. Looking at the map it might have been easier to walk from the west side of the moors. A really good day out though and worth the effort.

Thanks for the sub. It's near an old reservoir on moorland about 20 minutes drive away. Pretty wet all year round. I took my other truck up there a couple of days ago. It's fully waterproof, so I drove it down the stream lol. Good fun. Forgot the camera, but will take it next time.
