Thankyou @John-Ivar. Love your passion and commitment to Vegas to be able to craft this masterclass in editing on this platform. Totally understand if you can't, but what are the chances of access to the project files (or a subset thereof) for this demo?

Thank you, you really brightened my day with your comment! I'm actually hoping to get something like this done, I'd love for all users to be able to tool around with and see for themselves how these projects are put together! Yes - it's just so snappy and 'just makes sense'. Switching to anything else feels like a slog at this point (I'm obviously extremely biased though). Thank you for commenting! I think VP21 is great, and I'm very excited to see what's next!

I'm so happy that my work seems to resonate well with other VEGAS creators, I hope you'll all join me in keeping this community educational, passionate and full of life for our trusty editing suite! I can't wait to see how it'll keep evolving, hopefully I can keep contributing.

This a very easy and simple scenario though. Adjusting footage like this for different outputs is a piece of cake. Doing this with animations, text events, objects, transitions, literally anything more complex is a different story.

And now you've got two horrible jump cuts. Notice that he doesn't show the video after the edit. Gosh, I could never split a video in two places without the amazing power of AI. And yes, it was Sonic Foundry who made Vegas. Sony later bought it, but they didn't create it. This is what happens when you hire KZbinrs to make promotional videos.
@petervanglo4853Ай бұрын
Yeah this is such a dumb and easily avoidable mistake. Why not just have the update 3 tutorial guy show this stuff instead? He at least knows Vegas
@SheaTaboo28 күн бұрын
Sometimes, if I am working on a large piece of cinematic or other human created content (instead of some screen capture video a wanna be gamer has sent me to make him look less moronic), I cut it into a dozen or more pieces and reassemble it by hand, using transitions. Try it. Stop wasting time with Ai. Get proficient at using the software like you would a game or a musical instrument. It pays off in the long run. Trust me. :)

@soundguy10Ай бұрын
Vegas was originally written and released by Sound Forge. Sony had nothing to do with creating it
@SheaTaboo28 күн бұрын
It was a sonic foundry plug-in in the 1990s. I used it with Acid Ph1 and kept using it after it became a stand alone. I ran Vegas Beta one windows 98. As someone who has used it every day since Sonic Foundry invented it, I can say that since when Sony bought it in 2003 it was SUPER basic, like the cake walk of video. It didn't even have its own DAW. Sony immediately focused on making the interface more user-friendly with customizable layouts and enhanced preview capabilities. They added support for 4K video editing and export, keeping up with the advancing technology in video resolution. Then, they expanded inclusion of more video, audio, and image formats for import and export. They Enhanced audio editing capabilities with tools for noise reduction, mixing, and mastering. Then right before they sold to Magix in 2016, they introduced stereoscopic 3D editing capabilities. Also... for the record, Sound Forge and Vegas Video are two separate software products developed by different companies, although they are related in terms of their usage in audio and video production. Sound Forge is an audio editing software developed by Sony Creative Software. It is known for its advanced audio editing capabilities and has been widely used in professional audio production. Vegas Video is a video editing software originally developed by Sonic Foundry, which was later acquired by Sony Creative Software. It was rebranded as Sony Vegas and is now known as VEGAS Pro, developed by MAGIX after they acquired the software from Sony. To clarify, Sound Forge did not invent Vegas Video software. Both software products were developed by different companies, with Sound Forge primarily focused on audio editing and Vegas Video (now VEGAS Pro) focused on video editing.

Who's this new guy and how is MAGIX letting him get away with calling Sony Vegas by its **real** name out loud? Also, bad example cuz doing the edit in question the normal way would be several times faster than going through the whole text-based workflow process. Better to demonstrate it on stuff like long interview recordings, where the ability to search through the transcript for specific clips you need can ACTUALLY speed-up the editing workflow in comparison with the traditional method.
@MeStarStudiosАй бұрын
Agreed, not a very good example. Also it's factually incorrect. It wasn't called Sony Vegas when it released in 1999. It was started by Sonic Foundry. Such an easily avoided mistake

Thank you, and great question! As far as I remember, I think the original promotional video took somewhere between two and three weeks from start to finish. It's a lot of trial-and-error, feeling out what seems right or wrong, listening to feedback and ideas from my colleagues here in Norway and at MAGIX, and just going at it. Leaves a lot of scrapped ideas and scenes, but I think we ended up with something good for the update launch. :) Thanks for commenting!
