I'm trying to figure out why on earth the Falcons gave them that TD. They really were not moving the ball that much throughout the game, to be able to just go and score a quick TD. Props to the Steelers.

I went back and looked at the footage. They let the Steelers score with 2:02 left on the clock. That score plus the extra point made it 14-6, Steelers. Still a one score game. The Falcons did that because they were evidently out of time outs. If the Steelers were to simply get a 1st down at that point just before the score on that possession, they would've just proceeded to run out the clock for a 7-6 victory. By letting the Steelers score, it allowed the Falcons to get the ball back with just under 2 minutes left, only trailing by a TD + a 2-Point Kick. It was the only chance they had to save the game for themselves. Luckily for them, the Steelers didn't consider that strategy & went for the score instead of just getting the 1st down yardage & then getting on the turf to start running out the clock. What screwed them up was giving up that safety. When that happened, that was all she wrote. Game Over. The Falcons never attempted to call time out after that final Steelers possession after the safety, so that confirmed to me that they were indeed unable to stop the clock previously. Hope that clear things up for you.
