Bit of a fact check with this prologue: Yes the Titans were powerful, yes the Titans are tyrants, yes Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were instrumental in overthrowing the Titans (with a little help from Zeus's sisters Hera, Demeter, and Hestia, and some Titans themselves, including Prometheus, his mother Themis, and his brother Epimetheus), But the main factor of ending the Titans was the strength of the Hecatoncheries, beasts with many heads and arms, the craftsmenship of the Cyclops (who created Zeus's thunderbolts, Poseidon's trident, and Hades's pitchfork), and the might of Zeus and his allies, so it was not the Kraken, and Hades was not the one who created the Kraken. And Zeus never tricked Hades into ruling the Underworld, it was more of a mutual understanding and agreement when that was the result from drawing lots. Not to mention Hades is more of a neutral god in Greek Mythology. He was rarely a villain. Plus he had Persephone later on, which made his rule in the Underworld less dead. All of the other Olympians were antagonistic in their own ways (COUGH COUGH Zeus COUGH COUGH Poseidon COUGH COUGH Hera)

So the Gods Of Olympus In Clash and Wrath of the Titans were Not Completely Immortal but they had a Baseline Degree of Immortality Especially Zeus Poseidon and Hades had a Greater Baseline Degree of Immortality if they were Capable of Going to War with the Titans

Nothing can ever beat the Ray Harryhausen classic. The effects, sets, music, costumes, and cast are all perfect. You can't top the king Lawrence Olivier as Zeus, Harry Hamlin as Perseus, with a supporting cast of Maggie Smith, Ursula Andress, Claire Bloom, and Burgess Meredith!

It was decent, but it everything in it aged terribly, but i find the remake better, the remake just has that sense of epic scale and a great score and visuals that makes it still fun to watch, mind you the remake also has aspects of it that definitely aged. one epic movie that i think aged really well is Jason and Argonauts.

@@dawoodwilliams3652 Stop Motion when done well like in the 1981 film is timeless. That is the one with the true sense of adventure plus when I learned that Sam whatever his last name is threatened to destroy the original Bubo that just gave me another reason not to watch it. Liam Nesson can try all he wants but he will never reach Sir. Laurence Oliver's command and gravitas especially as Zeus. A cgi Medusa can't capture the dread and stillness of that one that continues go scare and have people on the edge of their seat when she enters the film. Watch Morgan Leger's Vaulting video on the film.

Leaving out the fact that the Titans only because rulers of the earth because their leader, Cronus, castrated and overthrew his own father Uranus. And that after he married his sister Rhea he heard a prophesy saying that one of his sons would overthrow him so he swallowed every child his sister/wife gave him whole, even though three of the five (Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon) were girls. That was why Rhea managed to hide Zeus and gave her husband a rock covered in a blanket to swallow instead. The gods aren't the only ones who know how to be cruel. They had no need for monsters when they overthrew their father, they had allies in the Cyclops's whom Cronus had freed from the imprisonment they were placed under by Uranus only to imprison them again. In their gratitude to the gods for freeing them for good this time, the Cyclops's gave Hades a Helmet of Darkness (which makes the wearer invisible), Poseidon a bronze trident and Zeus his lightning bolt. Hades broke into their fathers palace and stole his weapons using his helmet to go undetected, Poseidon distracted his father by attacking him with the trident, and then Zeus struck him down with his lightning bolt.

Yes and no. In Greece, Hades had a minor epithet of being wealthy. But make no mistake, this was a minor role, and Greeks always saw him as the lord of the dead (even though fun fact, Persephone fills this role in more myths then hades). Hades really got his wealth attributes more during the Roman period, as his Roman equivalent Pluto, was originally a fusion between Pluton the god of money and Dis Pater, the god of the underworld.

Now if only the scriptwriters can give her the actual myth of what happened, not something that's lacking the most important details of the script, or that just had a monster from Norse mythology thrown in because no-one did their homework. Greek mythology has plenty of monsters, why not pick one fo them. Gemma Arterton deserves a better story to narrate, she deserves the time to actually read the actual myth.

Manuel Bart The God’s are powerful enough to stand against the Titans. But they always stalemated, the Gods could defeat them, but not all at once. So Zeus had Hades create the Kraken, and it alone slayed the Titans. At least that’s a rough interpretation. The Gods aren’t weak.
@agenttheater5
@agenttheater5 5 жыл бұрын
They did. The Kraken is a monster from Norse mythology. Hades, Poseidon and Zeus defeated their father with the weapons created for them by the Cyclops's in gratitude for releasing them - Hades's Helmet of Darkness which made him invisible so he was able to steal Cronus's weapons without being detected, Poseidons bronze Trident which he used to attack their father and distract him, and then while he was distracted Zeus krept up behind him and struck him down with the lightning bolt. Then they banished every Titan to Tartarus except for their war leader Atlas who they condemned to hold up the sky forever and the female Titans (including their mother) because they helped free them from their Kronus's stomach (he'd swallowed them all except for Zeus when they were born because of the prophecy he heard that one of his sons would overthrow him as he had overthrown his own father Uranus but his sister-wife tricked him after she gave birth to Zeus and gave him a stone covered in a blanket instead) and fought on their side.
