Nice. To all the people complaining about full size rigs doing this why the hate? It took a extra minute to back up a couple extra times whats wrong with that? Ill give that minute and extra reverse or 2 anyday to have more room and be comfortable any day. I drive a full size rig because i have a family dog and stay in the mountains months at a time. No way i could do what i do on a little jeep or midsize truck. To each there own i just find it funny most the small rigs you see these days complaining about full size rigs but stick there tires way out and add stuff all over the roof, back and sides of there rides making it every bit as big and even more top heavy.

Broncos have separate emergency brakes on open rear end. Two hand brakes right or left wheels. Lock and drag the inside wheel.

Yes, in that type of setup you can do that and makes sense. This was a fun switchback, tight but doable. I've done a lot of other mountain passes in the San Juan's. Love off-roading!

This is the perfect example of why full size trucks Don't belong on a Jeep roads..good thing this person had a spotter..
@Ragnarok_Rob2 ай бұрын
This particular switchback is sharp and off-angle and is capable of handling larger vehicles. Jeeps have to do multi-point turns on this switchback, too. My truck is more than capable of handling this trail and I have years of off-road experience in more challenging environments and trails. Having spotters is always optimal, but this could have been done without spotters, too, would have resulted in a little more time. There's this sense among some Jeep owners where they don't want any other type of vehicle on any trails and they think only Jeeps can do off-roading. We all love trails and the challenges.
@highwaterprospecting19712 ай бұрын
If that's the case for jeeps , then I don't want to see them on the pavement !! It was made for real vehicles, full size. Stay on your dirt trails.

Just “ Yank the E-brake handle & slide that sucker into a 180 to make that turn”😏. 😆. Just kidding , as I know that drop off down the side of that mountain means instant death ….. but still cool nonetheless to picture someone doing the “ E-brake slide thing” 😎👍

Some of the comments are pretty funny. I drove my Jeep Cherokee down that road 20+ years ago. It’s exhilarating. The view is spectacular. The idea that there’s a risk that’s somehow not worth it - why would you snow ski, or water ski, or rock climb, or para-sail, or sky dive, or race a car, or any number of other recreational activities? Because it’s fun, that’s why. I don’t want to sit in my safe little bubble my whole life (like my parents do).

You should back down that section not turn around
@ya4722 ай бұрын
My first thought, too. Why turn at each switchback, easier to drive one section, back the next, etc.
@shinhochulp2 ай бұрын
Neither of you have obviously driven that trail. The only place you even have space to turn around is 1/4 mile up the road. And if you can drive backwards on that road in a full-size truck without rolling off the mountain, then kudos to you.
@ya4722 ай бұрын
@shinhochulp I back trailers into tighter spaces than that road. When I was 18, I was the only person to drop and pickup 99 hay bales with a tractor and bale wagon, without knocking a single bale off. Simple.
@ya4722 ай бұрын
@shinhochulp I live next to the rocky mountains and frequent logging trails. A few years ago I worked harvest on 18,000 acre farm, and I operated about 30 pieces of equipment I had never seen before. LOL. It is my thing. A 'full size' truck is a toy.
