I just picked up a hand-glazed set of Arnel today on the Oregon Coast & got to meet the artist who created them in 1973. I got the set of 5 plus teapot & sugar bowl for only $15! Thanks for great informative video!

Thanks for this info! I couldn’t figure out why my canisters were not the right color! I was told my aunt painted them in the 80s and now I know that’s probably true! She left the lids without a gradient.

Waooo. I loved mushroom colletibles from Sears i have 11 pieces; or 17 including the lids. Does anybody want to buy them? I am moving to another coutry. Very sad that i can't take them witm me. From Sears, made in Japán 1978 mushrooms in the back 3 pieces with a little damage by earthquake. ❤

Glad I found this video. My mom had a few pieces and her pots were the mustard colored Canadian version I guess? I think she thrifted them in the early 90s. I bought a couple of mugs about ten years ago at a flea market - I didn't realize they were collectables!

You have to get creative and search other platforms like Google or worthpoint! You have to keep in mind that rare doesn’t necessarily mean valuable, but seeking out professionals in the field related to your item can be helpful.

Good advice. What if you can't find your item? I have a 1950's Alexander Backer Company (there's a label on the bottom). This is a bust of a child wearing a dutch hat or nurses hat...reading a book. I haven't been able to even find the item at all anywhere! My elderly aunt received this as a gift in the mid 1950's from her father (my grandfather). Its in great condition, no repairs, no chips. help

Nice collection and description! I had an old chemistry apparatus catalog published a long time ago and their designations were ‘narrow mouth’ for liquids and ‘salt mouth’ (wide mouth) for holding solid chemicals, powders etc. I have some narrow mouth bottles with the ‘pennyhead’ glass stoppers as they were called because of their coin-like shape.

The US Sears Merry Mushroom embossed canisters made in the 80's do not have the mushrooms on the back, and are a different size than the 70's. There were also some sets made and painted in Mexico instead of Japan.
