I have always loved oak framed buildings and although ireland is a difficult country in which to promote such beautiful buildings and having spoken with Tim back in the early 2000s and learning of the sad loss of the CEO of English Heritage Buildings, I hope one day I will become a customer and bring an oakwright building to my home here in south dublin. Happy birthday Tim and to the business as you have inspired my 12yr old son to become an architect as he to loves the oak structure

A lady's English Castle, stunning. To reality, cost of land/building plot, total build finish cost, before cost of content, puts this out of reach of most people in UK as a % of population. Oakwrights, need to consider a German model, where a factory made timber frame home, can be delivered & erected on a prepared base, in a shortened timeline, at a much lower cost. Arguably the issue is the cost of land before build, for most. The UK Government is good at policies to support 1st time buyers, incentives to large building Companies, especially land for business (recent news of corruption with a Government/local government-council, selling £1 plots to friends!), but, never supports subsidies for individual plots of land to be sold at vast discounted rates, for a home dwelling to be built. There is a section of the Housing market (Max £500,000 or below market) that would most likely jump at such an opportunity, if land was made available, that didn't cost £250,000+ before even starting to build a single floor small dwelling with off road parking, like in this video, change would and could happen. But, supporting British people is not popular, as using UK Taxes for overseas support, or in UK for cronyism or woke agendas, is the currently dislocation we get from the ruling classes, the Elites in UK society. Half of England is owned by less than 1% of the population, due to perceived entitlement and Historic ownership rights, often given by Royal decree or illegal gains and nothing to do with good honest distribution fairly and evenly to what a family needs, of the land in the lands of the British Islands. What a utopia dream as hereditary Royal connectors is only for a few that apparently have the rights to land! Change sadly will never happen in UK, as Royals, Elites and Political classes always believe in divine rule and no UK Government would seriously consider helping British people, as that would be such a strange idea, not to keep UK population forever if serfdom.
