Just a suggestion to add to the complexity :) Rather than using the crossover outside stations, why not try for a ladder arrangement as is more common in the UK. ie a switch to change from left track to the right... then another to change from right to left - so no crossover.
@saspry22 күн бұрын
When I was advised of such an arrangement, the reason being was that double slips are too expensive to maintain and unreliable... and really weren't brought into general usage until the end of the Century, but then only in special situations :)

Quick question... why didn't you take the London route along the river, rather than over the steep hill? :) BTW... please reduce sound effects volume by a lot LOL That bulldozer is deafening! Cheers mate!
@StevesTycoonTerminal5 ай бұрын
It seems like there's a surge of railway enthusiasm, akin to Britain's historical railway mania, with plans for a mainline to Birmingham and Stafford in the works. I think in the future Dr. Beeching will be making a visit to that passenger line when the newer, faster lines open. This was mostly to connect what was already built to get the ball rolling. While I'm currently away, next week's episode might have some audio hiccups too with the bulldozer, but overall, the audio quality is improving. Adjustments have been made to balance the levels and refine the audio for future. I have found it to be a particularly challenging . Your support is greatly appreciated, and keep up the inspiring videos! I have a feeling you might like my next video and keen to see what you think.

The figure 8 bus line you put in place... vs two separate CW and ACW routes - with the two routes, you can easily work out the demand in both directions, and add extra vehicles as needed. With the figure 8 one - no such joy :)
@StevesTycoonTerminal5 ай бұрын
Totally agree! Monitoring passenger flow definitely helps optimize routes effectively. (I diverted from my usual two clockwise/anticlockwise routing.)

Wow that track cost a fortune! Perhaps you could have raised it more initially at the beginning, to do the rest at level from that point! Suggest you look at the Track/Street Builder Info mod tool which can help give better control over the angles and heights etc while building roads and tracks :) Cheers mate!
@StevesTycoonTerminal6 ай бұрын
I was indeed surprised by the track costs, but considering the locomotive's lack of power (it is by far the worst locomotive in the game), keeping things gradual does mean it costs a bit more than I'd prefer. I've taken your advice and added more vehicles, which I've already implemented. Due to work travel, I had to make several videos at once, which I'm not a fan of because I might forget my fanciful plans, like extending the line to Cambridge I was considering a few episodes back. I'm thinking of spending some time soon on adding more decoration to the setup. I think when the finances are just a little bit better I will start focusing a little more on passengers. Manchester has grown so much in such a small amount of time. Thanks again for your support!

Vehicle condition is a metric NOT worth worrying about. It only costs you money, with no real benefit other than appearance! Except on those vehicles that run through TOWNS - ie busses - where their NOISE emissions might upset the residents which could lead to lower town growth rate. In other words LOL save your money!
@StevesTycoonTerminal6 ай бұрын
Do the operating costs not escalate with older vehicles?
@saspry6 ай бұрын
@@StevesTycoonTerminal Not in TF2. Thankfully LOL
@saspry6 ай бұрын
New players never buy enough vehicles for their lines, so they struggle to make $$ with a handful of horses :) Instead, spend some money on more horses on, for example, that crude-refinery/port route. The Oil well can output 400 units. Keep adding vehicles until the LINE RATE on the route is around 400 = maximum return for your buck! :) Then apply similar logic to other routes - ie stone = 100 units initially then up to 400 as conmat plant expands, farm = 200, logs/coal/ore = always 400. The line rate on the production factories varies according to the DEMAND shown in the consumers tab for that factory... eg conmat plant - demand = the total of how much each TOWN you are shipping to wants :) Clear as mud? Cheers mate!
@StevesTycoonTerminal6 ай бұрын
Lucky I have my train. When you’re using horse and carts the roads become pretty crowded pretty quickly when you are meeting demand. Would you beef up the existing routes before exploring new ventures?
@saspry6 ай бұрын
@@StevesTycoonTerminal I would maximise existing routes and make a heap more money before doing too much expansion... because those routes will continue to be good earners for the life of the game!

There is a mod called "Industry workers" which enables factories etc to require workers... so you can transport people by bus to work. I've never tried it, but could be fun at some stage to try out. Or... you can use "people magnets" to attract people to particular destinations and bus them there :)

Very good question, I am more used to playing the later era and distance of goods traveled pays off better. Hence moving further away, But you can see that it’s taking a long time to pay out but when it does pay out it pays out big for this stage in the game.
