Well I bought one two years ago put roughly 112 hours on it.. Headed out two weeks ago and my guardian on my Mercruiser kicked in and my boat powered down I got an alert on my vessel view that my exhaust manifold were overheating.. So I ordered the plate, gasket and new impeller.. Replaced the impeller new back plate with gaskets and the unit still leaks.. I just ordered the OEM water pump assembly for $445.00 going to throw that back on.. Frustrated to say the least.. Spent almost double for the Hardin water pump and didn't even last two years.

Going on my eleventh season with my Hardin-Marine Gen 7 pump, no complaints here...

What a Monster!!! I wanna try it out!!! Actually today, there are outboards that can give these babies a run for their money! If you have the cash to spend, Mercury and Evinrude have 4 stroke V8 and V18 outboard engines! Then there are boats out there with as many as 5 of them bolted to the transom! I can remember being as young as 10 (1968) and thinking, why the he'll don't they make 4-Stroke Outboards? Back then you had to be so careful to make sure you measured the proper amount of oil to mix into your fuel! Also, if you added just a wee bit too much oil, it would gum up the jets (squirters) in your carburetor and the engine would not start unless you removed the carb, cleaned and reinstalled it! Back then we had this old tub with a 75hp Evinrude V4. When the engine was running well, the boat was remarkably fast! It was perfect for towing 1 or 2 skiers! My Dad kept 2 freshly clean carbs & gaskets in the tool box and learned how to swap them out quite rapidly. Also, spare spark plugs, spare glass bowls for the fuel pump, spare ignition cables and other parts! My Dad was a talented mechanic and was able to get that 1961 Evinrude to run perfectly! Just for the record, in 1974 he did a full tear down and rebuild of the 289 V8 in our 1966 Ford Ranch Wagon. He actually constructed a lift to remove the engine! Once that was done, he had a professional rebuild the automatic transmission. That old wagon performed like a brand new car!

too bad the seals and bearings are junk which is more often the issue than wearing out the pump

Is it illegal to talk about marine parts on a dino to talk about horsepower loss or gain with different parts I can’t find anybody anybody anywhere that test marine exhaust manifold‘s intake flame arresters is this illegal did they pass a law thank you would be something great to know what the horsepower gain and losses from bolting marine parts on a standard engine would be beautiful if somebody would man up and do it

This “tool” seems very unnecessary. I’ve never had an issue with installing an impeller. This thing doesn’t even fully install it, you still have to push it all the way in by hand.

Anyone complaining about "high" fuel prices?? A reasonable number 8 dollar/gallon. These self-occupied adults, still left in the childhood and killing time, is a free fars offered to the society.
