i would have thought there should be less sugar added because orange juice is already sweet, instead of 1:1 - looks like it turned out ok though! yum

Just a quick word for all of the people commenting “oh xyz is wrong with it” : Good thing it isn’t your drink. Rule #1 of enjoying alcohol is to drink WHAT you like HOWEVER you like it

whiskey with block of ice what a shame :(

@shaadzz8961 I also prefer my whiskey neat, but an Old Fashioned is best served on ice - in my opinion!

why char the good wood plate?!?
@Alexander_the_BartenderАй бұрын
So, I did pay close to nothing for the wood plate with the sole intention of smoking cocktails with it. It will definitely continue to be used, so it won't be going to waste!
@daVUXeАй бұрын
WHY no chilled granit, instead of the watery ICE?
@Alexander_the_BartenderАй бұрын
@daVUXe they both have their perks! I usually would use chilled stones while drinking a shot of bourbon or rum that I plan to sip on chilled without dilution. Some cocktails are meant to be a little diluted as you drink them. I.E an Old Fashioned is a spirit-forward cocktail and won't be ruined with a little dilution from ice. A large cube DOES melt slower than ice chips - so there is a reason that they call for them instead, so as to prevent too much dilution too quickly. All in all, this is all personal preference. I say the best way to enjoy a drink is the way you want to. Don't fear putting a twist on a recipe!

Great info on the smoke puck. I have one of a different kind. Mine is flat. also when used I do not see smoke going into the glass. I need to try without anything in a glass to see if it will fill it with smoke. Great video!
@Alexander_the_BartenderАй бұрын
@rlwilson39 Try to check if the metal screen is clogged or not. Get a toothpick and scrape out the inside. Also try to pack just enough wood chips to cover the metal screen. Sometimes too much wood in the smoker can restrict the flow of smoke falling into the glass. If none of that works, try a new wood!
@Alexander_the_BartenderАй бұрын
@@rlwilson39 Also, make sure you are using a butane torch. Matches or a regular lighter will not work properly.

Do these things use glorified sawdust or actual chunks of wood?(no hate with the sawdust comment, just don’t know what else to call it)
@Alexander_the_BartenderАй бұрын
@Don_cheedle This one uses small chunks of wood. I've used finer wood shavings before, as well. I don't believe I've ever seen anything as fine as saw dust - primarily because I believe it would fall through the mesh and into the drink/ become airborne and send embers everywhere.
