You do not need to spend $60,000 for a solar system, or to go completely off grid if you already have the grid. Starting small and adding to it over time is the best way to do this. You can have more than 1 small system, I have 3, all with dedicated batteries. No 20 year loans and no leases. Start by installing enough system to take your refrigerator and freezer off the grid for 6 hours per day. Then either add to it or set up another separate system to take your whole house's 120V lighting off grid. Make sure that you have grid backup for everything so you will never lose anything. Don't worry about the 240V stuff like dryers and central AC until later; those do not run 24/7. Don't worry about grid-tie systems, that is a rip off. You do not need $20,000.00 power wall batteries. You can build your own battery bank with a deck box from Walmart and 12 lead-acid batteries. Reply to this comment if you need help. This equipment is apparently very expensive and one wld have to be an established farmer to acquire it... however in the country there are more unestablished farmers than there are established...
